Chapter 1496

Tristan pondered for a moment before saying, “Sure, when I’m ready to leave, I’ll let you meet my dad. But you

have to promise me that you won’t reveal to Mom that I’m not Adrian in the next few days.

“Deal!” Layla agreed readily. After all, she had no evidence to prove this little boy was not Adrian.

But this boy looked exactly like her brother.

Could his father be…?

Ellinor and Baber brought up a bunch of snacks. They were all from the batch that Balfour had bought for the three

kids last time. Fearing that the kids would develop cavities from eating too many snacks, she had locked most of

them away, keeping them safe from the three little snack thieves and only offering them as

rewards.

Today was special. There was some unpleasantness between the three little ones, so she decided to let them

indulge a bit. Eating their favorite snacks would surely distract them from today’s discourse.

Early the next morning, Ellinor dropped the kids off at kindergarten and headed straight to the office.

Just as she was about to open her office door, her secretary stood up to give her a report. “Ms. Mendoza, a

gentleman came looking for you this morning. I asked him to wait in the lounge.”

A gentleman? Ellinor quirked an eyebrow. “Was it Bartlett Rex?”

The secretary shook her head. “No, it wasn’t Mr. Rex. I don’t recognize the gentleman.”

The secretary had only been with the company for a few months and didn’t recognize some people. But she knew

Bartlett, and if she said it wasn’t him, then it definitely wasn’t.

If it wasn’t Bartlett, then who could it be?

Who would come to the office this early in the morning to see her?

Ellinor nodded. “Okay, got it. Make me a cup of coffee; I’ll be in the lounge shortly.”

“Of course, Ms. Mendoza.”

Ellinor first dealt with some routine work in her office, then went to the lounge to see who had come to see her.

Upon entering the lounge, she saw no one. There were only two cups of coffee on the table.

One was freshly brewed and still steaming.

The other had been drunk and was only half full.

Where was the visitor?

Had he left?

Ellinor looked around the lounge and, seeing nobody, turned to leave.

Just as she turned, Byran, who had been hiding behind the door, planning to scare her jumped out and barked.

“Woof!”

Ellinor remained silent.

She wasn’t scared at all. Instead, she let out a laugh at his childishness.

Byran was disappointed that his prank had failed. He let out a huff, then opened his arms wide to give Ellinor a huge

bear hug. “Sis! It’s been so long, and you’re still as unflappable as ever.”

Wrapped in Byran’s hefty embrace, Ellinor didn’t resist. She lifted her arm and patted his back. “It’s been so long,

and you’re still as immature as ever.”

“Humph!” Byran didn’t like being called immature. He let out a huff, then released Ellinor. “I’m not immature in

front of other people, okay? You’re my sister, so can’t I act a little immature around you?”

Ellinor rolled her eyes at him. “Did I agree to acknowledge you as my brother? I don’t remember,

Byran crossed his arms and sat down with an air of entitlement. “I don’t care! You’re my sister. Even if the king and

God himself come, you’re stil my sister!”
