Dropping the walkie-talkie and crushing it under his foot, Frank stared thoughtfully at the blazing inferno behind himself.
The woman in white who had just shown up at Lanecorp was none other than Silverbell, chief of Morhen's Martial Alliance. Silverbell and Juno Enigma just so happened to be acquainted, and Juno called her when she learned that Troy Bearson was after Frank.
Like Kilian Lionheart, Silverbell was also in Zamri for the spiritron vein and headed toward Lanecorp post-haste when she heard there was danger.
Before she arrived, she called Frank when he reached the basement parking lot.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWary of the threat, he arranged for Silverbell to hurry over and defend Lanecorp, while he would use himself as bait to see who the Bearsons were after.
And the result was surprising-the Bearsons wanted to take down both Lanecorp and himself.
That certainly made things intriguing.
Frank did not spare Bolt and Thunder out of kindness either-he wanted them to spill the beans on the Bearsons.
Soon, a subtle black local sedan arrived at the edge of the road and stopped beside Frank.
Frank glanced inside to see two middle-aged men who looked like mob characters seated up front.
In the backseat was a woman in white, fair-skinned and her presence haughty and ethereal.
"Frank." She smiled faintly, the coldness in her eyes melting when she looked at him.
Frank nodded and got in the backseat, knowing that Thunder and Bolt were seated up front.
And the woman in white was naturally Silverbell.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"W-Where are we going now? Back to Lanecorp?" Thunder asked, terrified even as he held the steering wheel, his voice shaking. "Has Bearson Group sent others afteror Lanecorp?" Frank asked coolly, not answering his question.
"N-Not at the moment," Thunder replied, wiping the sweat off his brow.
He could feel the suffocating pressure emanating from behind. As he tentatively probed, he felt as if there were no depths to the man's vigor as if it was the ocean, and he could not sink to the bottom even if he were a rock. He only felt more reverence and fear at that.
Beside him, Bolt's whole body was stiff in the shotgun seat, afraid that Frank would get a little annoyed and kill them.
"In that case..." Frank paused and turned toward Silverbell. "Head to this place. I have other things to do today." Thunder flinched when he received Frank's note—that was the address to Troy's siblings! "Is he starting with them?" Even as the thought crossed Thunder's mind, he promptly started the car and took Frank and Silverbell to the address.
"Since you'd rather live, you'd better spit out everything you know. Why are the Bearsons after me? And who is the Lionheart family member supporting them?" Frank suddenly asked as they drove, while Silverbell's ears pricked up, intent on finding out who the Lionhearts sent as well.
"I-I'm not sure," Thunder said awkwardly. "I only know his nKilian Lionheart, and that Troy Bearson wants revenge against you because of his son."
