Chapter 430

Jonathan paused in his tracks, and his expression slightly darkened. Carlos, who was on the side, was frightened and

wished he could sew Lillian’s mouth shut immediately.

It could be said that Rosalie’s name was now a taboo in the Youngblood Group.

Lillian, however, had mentioned that name fearlessly and loudly. Carlos was afraid that Jonathan would suddenly

lose his temper.

The atmosphere seemed to have become tense at that moment. Carlos, who was beside Jonathan, even felt like

shivering.

After Lillian said that, she held Callum’s arm and left with satisfaction.

Callum chuckled at his girlfriend’s petty behavior and thought, “It seems it’s true that it’s hard to deal with women

and small-minded people, and Lillian is the combination of both!”

Before leaving, Callum glanced at Jonathan, who was not far away.

He wondered if Jonathan really did not love Rosalie anymore. Did Jonathan choose to break up with Rosalie because

he had grown bored of her and no longer wanted to continue their relationship?

Deep down, Callum was still skeptical about that.

After all, he had seen the way Jonathan got along with Rosalie before and knew Jonathan cared about Rosalie

deeply.

He did not think Jonathan could easily give up a woman he cared about so much.

Moreover, Lillian had slapped Jonathan before, and Jonathan did not pursue the matter further for the sake of

Rosalie.

Callum was curious about Rosalie’s current place in Jonathan’s heart.

After Callum and Lillian left, Carlos couldn’t help but say, “Mr. Youngblood.”

“Let’s go,” Jonathan replied coldly and continued walking.

They got inside the car, and Carlos was about to drive back to the company when he suddenly heard Jonathan’s

voice from the back seat. “Go and find out where she is now.”

Carlos was momentarily stunned by that. Although Jonathan only used the word “she” to refer to someone, Carlos

was certain that the former was referring to Rosalie.

“Yes, Mr. Youngblood,” Carlos responded. Then, he made a call and began to use his connections to find out

Rosalie’s current whereabouts.

Jonathan merely leaned against the back seat and watched the process. There was no expression on his handsome

face, which made others unable to tell what was on his mind at that moment.

After a while, Carlos finished giving instructions and turned to Jonathan. “Mr. Youngblood, I already spread the word,

but I’m afraid it’s going to take a while before we find anything. Should we go back to the company now?”

“No. Let’s wait for the result here,” Jonathan replied indifferently.

Carlos hummed in response and gazed at Jonathan. At that moment, the latter was like a statue exuding a cold

aura.

He knew that Jonathan had been stimulated by Lillian’s words earlier and that Jonathan was still not over Rosalie

deep down.

However, Carlos could not fathom why Jonathan broke up with Rosalie. Nevertheless, Carlos dared not ask because

that was forbidden.

Rosalie and Lucas had lunch at a restaurant near the hospital.

She went to the hospital that day to visit Larry, who was still in a coma, and she happened to meet Lucas once

again. While she was collecting various data, Lucas had been staying at her side and even helped her to run some

errands.

From that, Rosalie could tell Lucas seemed to have a good impression of her. Since he did not confess anything to

her, she thought she should not be too blunt. She could only try to keep some distance from him, not to give him

any false signals.

Rosalie had been busy in the hospital and only realized she had yet to have her lunch at one o’clock in the

afternoon. Since she did not eat anything, Lucas had not eaten either.

“You helped me a lot today. I’ll treat you to lunch,” Rosalie said.

Lucas smiled shyly. “I’m a man. It should be my treat.”

“It has nothing to do with men or women. If I can help you in any way in the future, it will be your treat then,” said

Rosalie.

Lucas’ eyes immediately lit up. Only then did he nod in response.

The menus in the restaurants near the hospital were all popular. Rosalie ordered two sets of meals for herself and

Lucas.

While they focused on eating, Lucas’ phone rang, and he picked up the phone. “Okay… Yes… Don’t worry about

me, Mom.

About that, I won’t go. I already have someone I like, so I won’t go there. Please stop asking your friends to help me

find…”

Rosalie’s hand holding the fork froze. Even if she could not hear what Lucas’ mother was talking about on the other

end of the line, she could tell from Lucas’ words that his mother was trying to introduce a woman to him.

However, Lucas said he already had someone he liked.

Rosalie wondered if he was referring to her. Somehow, she had a heavy feeling in her heart. Even the fork in her

hand seemed to become heavier.

If possible, she hoped that the person Lucas liked was not her.

She was emotionally wounded from her past relationship and could not afford another person’s love anymore.

Lucas seemed to have noticed something after ending the call. He looked at Rosalie bashfully but happened to

meet her

eyes.

“Well… I…” He seemed to want to say something but was at a loss for words. Overwhelmed by embarrassment, he

moved his hand in reflex and accidentally knocked the bowl of soup beside him. Most of the soup spilled on him.

Lucas’ cheeks instantly flushed crimson. He fumbled around but seemed to make things worse.

Rosalie hurriedly got up, drew a few pieces of tissues, and went to Lucas’ side. After helping him wipe off the soup

on his clothes, she quickly cleaned up the table and had the waiter at the restaurant get a rag and wipe up the

tabletop where the soup had spilled.

Lucas was embarrassed. Although he was a few years older than her, he was at a loss when something came up,

yet she calmly helped him.

“Thank you.” He spoke with a blushed face.

“Be careful,” Rosalie reminded.

“It seems that you’re very good at taking care of others,” he said.

She flashed him a faint smile. “Maybe it’s because I’m living alone. It’s all done now. When you go home later, soak

the clothes in laundry detergent for a while so that the soup doesn’t leave a residue on the clothes.”

“Got it,” he answered before suddenly asking, “Are you still living alone?”
