Holding Cayden's arm, Nicole strutted along the red carpet into the event ballroom like an arrogant princess.

The ballroom was filled with well-dressed guests chatting away with each other.

Cayden responded to the greetings of the esteemed guests with a graceful smile on his lips, nodding in

acknowledgment to each one of them.

Hearing their congratulatory words, he pursed his lips before curling them into a smirk.

Cameras flashed incessantly in the hotel, eager to capture every intimate moment between the two female and

male leads that would mark the beginning of their marriage of convenience, which would further bind both families

together.

The members of the Moore and Lambert families were seated, their faces displaying a palpable sense of joy and

satisfaction.

Jeffrey was clad in a dark blue traditional outfit. He looked especially eager and delighted to be here.

At first, Jeffrey believed that the negotiations the night before had failed, and he expected his grandson to refuse to

get engaged to the daughter of the Lambert family. As a result, he flew into a fit of rage.

Jeffrey was accustomed to being in control, and he was already planning to use despicable means to force Cayden

to comply with his wishes.

He viewed the marriage of convenience between the Moore family and the Lambert family as being beneficial to

both parties. As such, he was unwilling to let Cayden's feelings for Avery jeopardize the union.

However, just as Jeffrey was about to put his plan into action by asking his men to take action, Cayden surprised

him by returning home and claiming that he had thought things through. Cayden explained that he had come to the

realization that the marriage of convenience between the Moore and Lambert families would be beneficial, so he

had decided to get engaged to Nicole after all.

Soon, Cayden and Nicole walked onto the stage in the middle of the ballroom.

The stage was adorned with a plethora of fresh flowers, and there was a gold microphone set up in the center.

The host of the ceremony was a popular host in Ackleton.

He began his speech with words of congratulations, using his wit to elicit applause from the audience.

The host then handed the microphone to Cayden.

After shoving Nicole's arm away, Cayden walked over to the center of the stage.

Seeing that, Nicole grew nervous.

She didn't dare to dream that Cayden would confess his feelings for her in public just like how he confessed his

feelings for Avery, but she hoped he would at least say some touching words.

They had known each other for a long time but only ended up as a couple recently. Nevertheless, she felt that time

was too slow as she couldn't wait to marry him.

Nicole forced herself to stay calm and tamped down her excitement. She was on cloud nine.

guests in the ballroom.

Cayden adjusted the microphone to his height and spoke calmly. “Thank you for taking the time to attend my

engagement party. I have an announcement to make today.” His voice was deep and magnetic.

Hearing that, Nicole could barely hide her delight.

When she noticed Cayden's right hand reaching into his pocket, her smile widened.

Cayden must be reaching for the diamond ring. We've picked the engagement ring together. The diamond is huge

and gorgeous. Most importantly, it is a unique piece.

Nicole's heart raced as she took a deep breath, eagerly awaiting the next moment. Suppressing her excitement,

disappointed.

used to believe that a marriage of convenience is solely about benefits and that love doesn't matter. However, as

the day drew near, I began to feel increasingly anxious. I realized that a marriage without love won't bring us

happiness. Ms. Lambert is an amazing person. She's kind and comes from a prominent family. Any man would be

lucky to have her as a wife. However, after spending time together, I discovered that we have many differences

Shocked murmurs arose from the crowd.

Jeffrey nearly passed out in anger. His hand gripping his cane was trembling in rage. What an unfilial grandson!

Allie's expression turned dark as she cursed her son inwardly for acting foolishly.

Meanwhile, Lily was enjoying the scene silently.

William usually looked stern, but his face had now contorted in anger as he shot a furious and unpleasant glare in

Cayden's direction, his mood was similar to an approaching thunderstorm.

Claire seethed with anger and disappointment, feeling sorry for her daughter as Cayden had publicly humiliated

her. She also held the Moore family responsible for mishandling the situation. Nicole was deeply in love with
