The caller threatened Avery and hung up the phone before Avery could utter a word in response.
Avery was baffled. Right when she was about to continue making her soup, she suddenly remembered the unknown
woman she had bumped into at Sugary Confectionary. That woman gave me a disk and told me it contained
something that could destroy Cayden. She was even threatening me to leave him. I totally forgot about it after I
came home and put my bag aside. How forgetful of me! What could be in there? How is that woman so sure
whatever is in there can threaten me?
With that in mind, Avery turned down the heat on the stove and let the soup in the casserole simmer on low heat
before she went to look for her bag. Upon finding the disk, she played the video.
Soon, the footage started playing.
When Avery saw what was on the disk, her expression froze. She felt as though she had just fallen into an icy abyss,
and she couldn't stop trembling.
Late that night, the twins had gone to sleep, and Avery was standing before the window on her own in her white silk
pajamas. In a daze, she stared blankly at the moon with a grim expression on her face.
Just then, Cayden entered the room and saw Avery's slender back.
The moon from outside the window cast a white ray of light over her body, making her seem lonely and pitiful.
Cayden took off his coat, silently walked up to her, and hugged her from behind.

Avery buried her head in his chest and hugged his waist so tight that it was as if she was afraid of losing him.
“Cayden, we're getting engaged the day after tomorrow. I'm worried that it's not going to go as we planned.”
Cayden wrapped his arms around her slender waist and pulled her in. “Why would you worry about that? Our
families have already agreed to the marriage. No one is stopping us now. All you need to do is to be a bride on that
day. Leave the rest to me, okay?”
Cayden's body was muscular, so when he hugged Avery, her body seemed frail and delicate.
The rays of moonlight were reflecting off the side of Avery's face, covering her in a halo.
Cayden panicked slightly when he noticed Avery's strange behavior.
He then frowned and stared into her eyes to ask, “Are you regretting it? Don't you want to go through with the
engagement?”
Avery shook her head desperately.
While holding back her tears, she grabbed his hand and kissed his slim fingers. “No one wants to marry you more
than I do. I've waited for this moment for a long time. Do you know that you're a gift from heaven? I don't think
anything is going to make me happier than to be able to marry you, be your wife, give you children, and cook for
you. I really want to marry you and grow old with you. I never want to leave you...”
Avery lowered her head, and her long and silky hair fell on her chest.
Cayden couldn't help but feel his desire surge from within him when he saw her thick eyelashes flutter alluringly.
Ever since Avery got pregnant, he had avoided physical intimacy with her because he was afraid of hurting her.
Nevertheless, Cayden still proceeded to carry Avery back to their bedroom. While carefully avoiding her tummy, he
pinned her down on the bed.
Upon seeing the surprised look in Avery's eyes, Cayden uttered in his deep and hoarse voice, “Babe, if you play with
fire, you'll get burned!”
Avery froze when she noticed Cayden's desire-filled gaze.
She immediately shielded herself with her arms and stammered, “I-It hasn't been three months... We can't...”
She was speaking softly, weakly, and shyly. It was as though she were a frail kitten.
Hearing that, Cayden flashed a smile and lifted her delicate chin to kiss her cheek.
In an affectionate and magnetic tone, Cayden said, “Silly, I know you can't have sex now. No matter how hard it is
for me to resist the urge, I'm still going to refrain from touching you. I love you. You know that, right?”
Hearing those words, Avery lowered her gaze to show her long, dark, and slightly wet eyelashes.
Wrapping her arms around him, she muttered, “You're so nice to me. I can't bear to do it... I can't...”
Avery's words were said as much to herself as it was to Cayden.
Cayden thought Avery was merely being slightly emotional from the hormones during pregnancy affecting her.
After all, she had become more sentimental ever since she got pregnant. Therefore, he disregarded her odd

He then parted her lips and kissed her passionately.
Cayden's hug was warm and delightful. As they were being intimate, Cayden whispered into Avery's ear, “If you
really can't bear it, then stay by my side for the rest of your life, Avery. Not only are you my savior, but you're also
my one and only. I love you dearly, Avery. Let's be together forever.”
Avery craved his warmth and his gentleness. While hugging him tightly, she felt safe. Cayden says he loves me. In
truth, I love him even more. However, I know we can't be together. Although I'm happy now, I know I might have to
go through a painful separation later. Still, I shouldn't overthink. Even if this is my last few seconds with him, I'm still
going to cherish whatever time I have left with him.
The next day, Cayden brought Avery to the most luxurious bridal store in Ackleton to try on the wedding gowns. He
had even told his assistant to inform the store manager beforehand.
Since the store manager knew they were dealing with the famous and wealthy Cayden Moore, he instructed his
well-dressed staff to form two lines outside the store to welcome Cayden.
“Mr. Moore is here!”
As soon as the manager finished his sentence, Cayden's Lamborghini was seen slowly coming to a halt in front of
the bridal store.
The attentive doorman then approached the car and opened the door for them. In the next second, Cayden got out
of the car elegantly before walking over to the passenger seat to help Avery out.
