“Naturally, we’ll wait. I don’t think it was necessarily Mary Sullivan who made them say those things.
Perhaps, not all of them were bribed by Mary. Some of them might have not liked me from the start.
This was merely a good opportunity for them to jump on the bandwagon,” Xyla Quest said before
smiling bitterly.
“That makes sense. To be honest, some people can hate others for no reason in a lot of cases. Since
you are living a seemingly good life, and their lives suck, they have turned you into a target for their
negativity. Humans really are the worst. Although some people say demons are terrifying, I think a
human’s heart is the most terrifying thing,” Georgie said. .
“Yeah. A human’s heart is indeed complicated, Georgie. Anyway, have you had breakfast?” Xyla turned
to look at Georgie.

shook her head.
Xyla nodded before driving away.
Due to the commotion earlier, Xyla was not in a particularly good mood right now. She felt that she
needed to blow off some steam.
Even if Xyla returned to the office right away, she would not be able to calm herself down to work.
Therefore, she decided to go somewhere to get her mind off of things.
“Did you come over to look for me on purpose this morning? Or did you happen to pass by and saw
what happened?” Xyla asked.
“I didn’t happen to pass by. I wanted to meet you to show you some documents. D*mn it, I left those
documents in my car. After what happened with those people back there, I completely forgot about
work,” Georgie said as she knocked herself on the head.
“It’s fine. You can hand it over to me after we are done buying stuff later,” Xyla said as she shrugged
nonchalantly.
“Okay,” Georgie said.
Approximately ten minutes later, Xyla’s red Maserati stopped in front of a high-end western restaurant.
Xyla unbuckled her seatbelt and was prepared to get out of the car.
“Put this on to avoid attracting any unwanted attention,” Georgie said before quickly passing her a pair
of black sunglasses.
“Thank you,” Xyla said with a chuckle before putting the sunglasses on.
Since Xyla had a tiny face, the large sunglasses covered nearly half of her face. Even so, she still
looked glamorous. After Xyla got out of the car, Georgie followed her. With Georgie’s arm around hers,

Just as they were about to step through the front door, Mary walked out from the restaurant.
With a lot of make-up on, Mary was wearing a sexy, rock-inspired red dress with a white fur coat on the
outside, as well as a pair of long, black boots which covered her knees. She looked almost like a sexy
lady from one of those famous Hollywood movies.
When Mary saw Xyla, her facial expression immediately turned cold. Mary stood directly in Xyla’s way
as she extended an arm to stop Xyla from moving forward.
“Well, well. Who could this be? Isn’t this the infamous b*tch I’ve been seeing on internet for the past
two days, Xyla Quest?” Mary asked with her chin lifted. There was a sardonic look on her face.
