Chapter 575
Genevieve clapped alongside the others. She walked over, smiled, and said, “You’re such a pro. Paula. I pale so much in comparison.”
“Oh, you flatter mc.” Paula looked pleased as she wavce lier hand.
Paula sat down on a rattan clair, picked up a cup of collec, and took a sip. “I wasn’t able to attend the grand opening of the Futasy Film Festival since I was on a business trip at that time, but I’ve seen the opening performance. They made the right choice of picking you for the opening act. You’re such a talented violinist. I’m not exaggerating when I say your music gave me goosebumps,” she praised.
Paula poked Genevieve as she spoke. “Genevieve, you are a talented gal. I think you even overshadow Marilyn, who is a rare talent in the music industry.”
“Oh, you’re too kind. I’m just an outsider.” Genevieve flashed her a faint smile.
Paula gave her a look and suddenly broke into a smile. “You played that song for Bruce, right?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGenevieve was caught off guard upon hearing that.
Paula lcaned back into the chair. “Everyone in the entertainment industry knows about Bruce’s case. I’m really into music as well. But Ms. Rachford…”
She paused for a moment before continuing, “The entertainment industry is all kinds of filthy. and he’s no exception. There are people worse than him out there. He’s good-looking, and it’s fine if you’re not looking for anything serious with him. Just don’t invest too many feelings into this relationship.”
Paula liked Genevieve a lot.
Not only was she pretty and talented, but she was also the younger sister of Cooper from Specter Corporation and Armand’s ex-wife.
The subsidiaries of Central Group had worked closely with Exuberance Group in the past when Armand was still around. Moreover, Marlon and Armand were close friends.
Paula couldn’t help but exhort Cenevieve even though she didn’t like being nosy.
Upon hearing Paula’s words, Genevieve swallowed her coffee abruptly, causing her to choke and eliciting a string of coughs. “You’ve misunderstood. I don’t have feelings for him. Nor do I want to fool around with him.”
“Plus, I got remarried,” she added.
*I’m just worried he’ll win you over someday with how well he’s been treating you from time to time.” Paula’s statement hit the nail right on the head. “I know these artists all too well.”
Genevieve recalled all the times she ran into Bruce, recollected the conversations they had, and the dinner he had prepared for her.
She lowered her head and sipped her coffee in awkward silence.
Paula was indeed the wife of media bigwig Marlon Hossler. Her words stabbed Genevieve’s heart even though they had only met once at the club.
Genevieve excused herself to go to the bathroom. Afier she washed her face to clear her head, she pulled her phone out and blacklisted Brucc.
It was scary to think that she was starting to form an attachment to this man and thought that it would be better to put some distance between them.
A cleaner who came into mop the floor accidentally bumped into Gencvicve just as she was leaving
The cleaner quickly apologized, but Genevieve waved her off. She ran into two men on her way back to the golf course.
She figured they weren’t here for golf since they didn’t carry golf bags.
The old man walking in front exerted an imposing, commanding presence, whereas the man beside him had sharp eyes and a dominating presence. He didn’t look much like the average bodyguard.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe old man recognized Genevieve at a glance. “Genevieve, what a coincidence!” he said in a friendly manner.
Genevieve never expected to run into Herbert here. “Looking for someone?”
Herbert nodded.
Genevieve returned to the golf course after greeting Herbert, only to find out that he was right behind her when she sat down on the rattan chair.
Paula greeted Herbert warmly the moment she laid eyes on him. “Old Mr. Zeigler, what brings you here?”
Genevieve turned to look when she heard Paula’s greeting.
She knew Sylvie had returned to her roots. However, she had never seen Herbert before since he had never shown himself in front of the media.
Who would have thought that the man she ran into at the airport was Sylvie’s granddad?
How ironic!
