Chapter 212 You Are A Douchebag
“No! He can’t be dead! You have to save him!” Genevieve cried out, shaking the doctor’s hand on her
knees. “He’s only in his twenties. He can’t die. Please, I’m begging you…”
“I’m sorry. There’s nothing I can do.” The doctor pushed Genevieve’s hands away.
Genevieve looked at the man on the gurney and continued crying, unable to even see anything through
her tears.
She looked at Steven. “Steven, please save Patrick. You can save him, right?”
Steven didn’t answer. He held back the pain in his heart as he reached out to pull the white cloth over his
younger brother’s body.
Genevieve collapsed into a pile on the floor and sobbed her heart out.
She didn’t allow any of them to even suggest cremating Patrick here. In a daze, she followed Steven
back to Jadeborough—Patrick’s hometown.
Still, she couldn’t muster up the courage to step into the funeral home. She stood outside and watched
as Steven and a worker pushed Patrick in.
She had no more tears left to cry.

to bring her to see the ocean one day, and he was the man who had killed for her and had loved her
more than anyone else. And now, he was dead.
What have I done to deserve such a man who loves me and would give me his all…
Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming from behind her and a voice that haunted her in her dreams.
“Genevieve? Are you all right?”
Genevieve turned back to see Marilyn walking toward her with the help of a housekeeper. Her pregnant
belly was a spiteful sight to Genevieve as she took in Marilyn’s falsely caring expression on that evil face
of hers.
“I heard that Patrick died, so I just had to come to take a look.”
All Genevieve could think about was how venomous she had sounded over the phone as she forced
Patrick to choke down the pill and her evil laughter as she watched him die. She began quivering in
anger, and her vision became red.
“I’m going to kill you! I’ll f*cking kill you!” she screeched as she ran toward Marilyn.
There was a strange glint in Marilyn’s eyes.
Before she arrived, she had already called the police, who were now on their way. If Genevieve attacked
a poor pregnant lady like Marilyn, she would definitely get time in jail.
If Genevieve went into jail, Marilyn would make sure that she would never get out as long as she was still
breathing.
Marilyn’s housekeeper jumped in shock and hurriedly stood in front of Marilyn to protect her.
Right then, a large hand reached out and gripped Genevieve’s wrist, sending her stumbling back.
“Let me go!” Genevieve screamed as she tried to struggle out of his grasp. “I’m going to f*cking kill her!
I’ll kill that b*tch!”
Armand’s gaze darkened as he looked at her fit of madness. “Wake up, Genevieve. She’s pregnant. You
can’t do anything to her.”
“She killed Patrick! I want her to pay!”
Genevieve lifted a hand, wanting to smack Armand across the face. However, as she blinked, his face
swam more clearly into view and her body froze. A chill ran down her spine as she realized how
unfamiliar this man was.
He had been protecting Marilyn this whole time.

protecting her; his stony face remained expressionless.
Armand didn’t dodge her hand, but Genevieve’s hand had stopped in midair.
“Genevieve, you f*cking deserve this. This is all your fault!” she cursed at herself as she landed slap after
slap on her own face as if to wake herself up.
Before Armand could say anything, Genevieve had already looked up at him.
Her cheek was bright red and slightly swollen, too, but she didn’t react in the slightest. She looked numb.
Genevieve’s mouth twitched, and she whispered, “Armand, you’re a douchebag.”
Armand looked into her lifeless eyes and felt as if he had been thrown into a dark void. He imagined a
cave that had been completely blocked off. The feeling was so real that he was even finding it a little
harder to breathe.
Her pain and suffocation threatened to reach out and choke everyone in the room.
Just then, Armand smelled the iron-rich stench of blood.
He followed the scent and looked down, noticing blood trickling down from Genevieve’s trembling legs
and into her shoes.
