Chapter 1165 A Whole New Light
Why would she go out of her way to save me when I'm always trying to undermine her?
The image of Ashlyn leaping over at the critical moment flashed across her mind, and the dashing audacity of it
dazzled her.
She had never met such a stunningly attractive woman in her life.
Her head was still spinning, and she still felt uneasy, but she could not help wrapping her arms around Ashlyn's
slender waist.
As she savored the unique fragrance that only Ashlyn seemed to possess, holding her seemed the only thing that
made her feel safe.
Holy sh*t!
Sabrina felt like she was on the verge of a breakdown. Did I actually find a sense of peace in Ashlyn?
The onlookers who had been watching from the outside of the racetrack were gaping at the scene with expressions
of stunned disbelief.

anybody would have wanted to happen.
Amongst the crowd, a particular pair of eyes were fixed intently on Ashlyn. The icy stare was so venomous that
Ashlyn seemed to sense it.
She looked up at the dense crowd and found many pairs of eyes fixed on them.
As she swept her gaze over the sea of faces, Ashlyn could not help feeling a little nonplussed.
She had the distinct feeling that she was watched like prey.
I wasn't imagining it. Why did it suddenly disappear when I looked over?
Under Ashlyn's control, the thoroughbred gradually regained its calm.
Its pace was not as frantic as before.
Sabrina, who was nestled in Ashlyn's arms, noticed the horse slowing down.
She found her fear greatly diminished
The staff at the racetrack hurried over.
Seeing that the situation was under control, he came over to take the reins. “Are you all right, Ms. Gray?”
Ashlyn helped Sabrina dismount. The latter tried to steady her weak legs. “I'm fine.”
She looked at Ashlyn with a slight blush on her cheeks. “T-Thank you.”
Her back was drenched in sweat. She felt drained of energy.
Ashlyn's almond-shaped eyes lightly swept over the faint blush on the other woman's cheeks. “Let's go. I'm tired,
too. Let's have a cup of coffee to calm your nerves. On me.”
Sabrina bit her pale lips. Like a timid bride, she followed behind and soon arrived at the leisure area together.
Upon arriving at the coffee bar, Ashlyn ordered a latte while Sabrina opted for a cup of Blue Mountain coffee.
Sabrina's coffee, with extra sugar, tasted sweet and pleasant.
Then, she gaped, wide-eyed, as Ashlyn picked up the unsweetened latte and began drinking it without batting an
eye.
Sabrina watched Ashlyn sip her coffee elegantly. Her slender, snow-white neck was reminiscent of a beautiful
swan's.

For some reason, she turned red again as she stared.
The more I look at her, the more I feel like a clown. A lunatic. A fool. The more I try to one-up her, the more I feel
that I am simply... How embarrassing. I'm nothing compared to her.
Despite being subjected to such scrutiny, Ashlyn did not seem uncomfortable at all.
Instead, Sabrina was becoming as red as the setting sun.
When Ashlyn swept her cool gaze over at her, she hastily lowered her head in embarrassment and took a sip of her
coffee.
Then she heard Ashlyn's voice. “Lucas and I are a couple bonded by adversity. You'd best put all your thoughts to
rest.”
Sabrina did not expect her to be so forthright. She froze momentarily in surprise.
It took her a good while for her slow-witted brain to catch up. Ashlyn and I... d*mn, we're rivals!
All of her attempts to provoke, mock, and disdain Ashlyn, and to undermine everything Ashlyn did or said, all of it
seemed to have been just a fleeting moment to the beautiful woman with the cold gaze before her before it
vanished into thin air.
She is special, and it has nothing to do with where she comes from, nor does it have anything to do with her family.
She is just so unique, so dazzling, so charismatic.
