Chapter 465
“What?” Jaydeen was bewildered. She did not know if she had exposed herself or it, as
Cynthia had previously suggested, he was just bluffing,
The man’s voice carmed a hint of danger. “You should know that my patience is limited.”
“I really don’t know what you’re talking about,” Jayleen forced herself to reply with
composure.
“You don’t? Then how did K fortify your system? Since you won’t talk, I’ll have to use your
brother and grandma to force it out of you. The man’s presence was terrifying,
“I really don’t know!” Jayleen sounded like she was on the verge of tears. “Please don’t
harm them.”
The man’s patience seemed to have wem thir “This is your last chance. Besides yourself,
who else has had access to your phone? Tell me, and I’ll reward you. If you refuse, I’ll
make sure you understand the consequences.”
The last few words sent a chill nonning down Jayleen’s spine, and she was horrified. Her

“Still not talling? The man’s tone was eerie.
Jayleen trembled involuntarily. It was an instinctual fear of this person
Cynthia noticed Jayleen’s distress and held her empty hand, giving her a reassuring page
and a warm touch
Jayleen’s panicked heart immediately found solace
Her eyes were bloadshot, her lips pale, as I she were on the verge of tears as she said, “I
really haven’t given it to anyone else. It has always been with me, except..”
Jayleen paused as if recalling something.
The man also noticed and asked, “Except for what?”
“I lost it chce when I returned. Apart from that incident, the phone has always been with
me,” Jayleen spoke slowly
“How did you lose it?
“I don’t know… I went out for a while, and when I returned, it was gone. I told Joshua
about it, and he helped me retrieve it.”
After Jayleen spoke those words, there was silence on the other end
Cynthia glanced at her, surprised by Jayleen’s ability to react so quickly.
Jayleen, however, became flustered by Cynthia’s gaze and instinctively waved her hand,
looking nervous.
Cynthia was confused.
“I promise that every word I say is true. Please don’t harm my grandma and brother,”
Jayleen pleaded anxiously. The man only said, “Whether your grandma and brother will be
safe depends on whether you’re lying or not.” After saying that, he hung up before Jayleen
could react.
The man fiddled with his phone, and his emotions were unreadable. Then, he looked at the
woman still sitting in front of the computer and ordered, “Check the surveillance around
Jayleen’s location and see it there are any suspicious Individuals.”
The woman did as instructed and soon replied, “None

Meanwhile, to prevent hackers from eavesdropping through Jayleen’s phone, Cynthia
gestured for Jayleen to go to the living
room outside.
Jayleen did not ask further questions and followed her.
Once outside, Jaybeen immediately explained, “I mentioned Joshua earlier because he has
more influence. It would be more credible if I said that Joshua helped me retrieve the lost
phone. Please don’t misunderstand.”
“I understand,” Cynthia replied
Jayleen breathed a sigh of relief but suddenly remembered the content of the phone
conversation.
“By the way…”
