Although there was a small distance, Ava could still hear Mr. Rogers complimenting the design.
“Miss Pine, your style is reflected in your design. I didn’t expect you to be a newbie.” Mr. Rogers praised Laura
before praising Bill, “Bill, you’re so discerning. It’s such a blessing for your company to have such an outstanding
designer.”
“Mr. Rogers, you’re very kind. I just designed it according to your requirements. If we’re talking about who has the
most vision, it’s you because you chose our company to serve you,” Laura smiled sweetly and gave an equally
sweet reply.
Mr. Rogers laughed happily after hearing this.
Ava bit the apple and listened calmly. She was also relieved that the project was settled.

“Ava, did you hear that? I didn’t expect Laura to be so amazing that she could actually handle this project.” Maisie,

“If this is the case, Bill will definitely use her again. Ava, are you afraid that your position will b e replaced by her?”
Ava smiled and took a bite of the apple. “To be honest, I’m very grateful to Laura. If this project had gone south, I’d
have to pay a huge amount in liquidated damages. Since she has completed it, everyone is happy. I’ll get her a cup
of coffee to thank her later.”
After Ava finished speaking, she turned around and picked up her phone to order the coffee. Then, she saw Laura
and Bill laughing while walking Mr. Rogers out of the office. When they came back, Bill was still praising Laura. He
did not even look at Ava who had been in the company with him for years.
Ava did not mind it either as there were always bound to be more talented people. She did not feel jealous.
After about half an hour, the coffee that Ava ordered arrived.
She did not just order one cup. She also generously bought coffee for everyone in the office.
“Ava, you’re so generous. My life is worth it now that I have a colleague like you,” the female colleague next to Ava
joked as she held the coffee in her hand.
“I can win you over with just one cup of coffee? You’re so cheap, you little dummy.” Ava joked with her as well. She
grabbed a cup of coffee while she was at it.
The colleague looked at Laura’s seat, and she understood why Ava was doing this.
Ava figured Laura might be in the restroom, so she would bring the coffee over to her.
After Ava placed the coffee down, she also placed a note under the cup. After Ava was done with everything, she
was about to go back to her seat.

She looked at the draft that was under a designing book. After a few seconds, she reached out her hand to pull that
draft out from under the book.
“Ava, why are you at my seat?”
Laura’s sudden appearance interrupted Ava’s action.
Ava pulled her hand away. She knew it was rude to touch other people’s things without permission, but that draft
under the book confused her.
“It’s nothing. I bought coffee for everyone, and I wanted to use this chance to congratulate you for successfully
completing the project with Mr. Rogers,” Ava explained.
Laura seemed to smile after she heard that. Then, she walked quickly to her desk to pretend to tidy the things on it.
She said, “I see. Thank you for the coffee, Ava. Mr. Branson is asking for me, so I’ll head over now.”
After Laura said that, she grabbed the messy documents and papers on her desk before turning around to enter
Bill’s office.
Ava stood in the same spot while looking at Laura’s back. Then, she furrowed her brows.
When Maisie saw Laura entering Bill’s office, she walked over to Ava.
