There was a terribly unpleasant expression on Skyler’s face. He stumbled a couple of steps back

The nurse left in a hurry after speaking.

Skyler’s body swayed. He held onto the wall for balance. He then slumped down on the bench next to

him.

He stared at Yale, stunned. “What did she say just now? Jocelyn White lost both her legs? How is that

possible? She must be lying to me!” Skyler could not imagine how would someone as prideful as Jocelyn

live after being handicapped! There was a pained expression on Yale’s face. He did not know how to

comfort Skyler.” President Moore, take care of yourself! Nothing bad will happen to Miss White since

she’s a good person!” Skyler let out a mocking laugh. “Nothing bad will happen to her… The car collided

with her car although there’s only a terribly small chance of something like that happening!” Skyler

suddenly wondered if this was karma. If he had not schemed against Lynn, Lily, and Howard, this might

not happen right now. Yale looked at Skyler in exasperation. He then raised his head to glance at the

operation theatre. “President Moore, don’t make things hard for yourself. This was an accident!” Skyler

raised his hand and said, “Stop talking! I need some peace and quiet!”

He clasped his face with his hands. It felt like someone was clenching his heart tightly. It felt hard for him

to even breathe. He did not dare to look at the door of the operation theatre.

At this moment, he had long forgotten the decision that he had made at Jubilee Club. He planned to

return the letter that Jocelyn’s mother had written for her and cut ties with her.

Yale stood beside Skyler quietly.

After some time, the sound of rushed footsteps rang out.

Skyler raised his head at once. He then caught sight of Michael running over with a panicked expression

on his face. Yennis, whose eyes were red-rimmed, followed behind. Skyler could sense that something

did not feel right, but he did not think much about it. He fixed a dark gaze at Michael and shouted, “What

were you doing? Why are you only caring about her now?!”

When Michael heard what he said, a panicked expression appeared on his face. He was rather stunned.

Since when did Skyler care so much about Lily? Why had he never known about it? Skyler got up with a

fierce expression on his face. It looked like he wanted to devour Michael

up alive. “Grace is dead, and you’ve been venting off all your rage on Jocelyn all these years. What’s

wrong? Now that she’s gotten into a car accident, are you here to get your share of the advantages by

asking for some car accident compensation?”

Skyler felt extremely angered and heartbroken when he thought about Jocelyn’s current condition and

how Michael had treated Jocelyn in the past.

When Michael heard Grace’s name, he finally came to his senses. Skyler was not worried about Lily

White. He was worried about Jocelyn instead.

He felt extremely upset, but he still explained himself at once. “President Moore, isn’t Lily in this

operation theatre?”

Yennis, who was standing beside him, burst out into tears as soon as she heard what he said. Skyler

was stunned. He turned around stiffly to look at Yale. Yale was momentarily dazed as well. He suddenly

recalled that Skyler had been asking about Miss White all along! The nurses all assumed that he was

asking about Lily White. That way, everything seemed to match up. Lily had gotten seriously injured

during the car accident. She was now handicapped! Obviously, Skyler soon realized this as well. His

expression changed quickly. Skyler never would have expected himself to make such a mistake. He

glared at Yale with an unpleasant expression on his face and said, “Go check where Jocelyn White is.”

Yale immediately headed off to check where Jocelyn was. Skyler had a stony expression on his face as

he looked at Michael and said coldly, “I thought that you suddenly felt some concern for Jocelyn after

realizing your conscience. It seems like I’ve overestimated you. You don’t have a conscience at all!” After

speaking, Skyler turned around and left with a cold expression on his face. Michael stood on the spot

stiffly. He suddenly thought about everything that had happened recently.

The more he thought about it, the worse his expression got. It seemed like Skyler was helping Lily when

he helped her marry Howard. However, look at the outcome they got right now!

Skyler was not surprised at all when he heard that Lily had gotten into a car accident just now.

Chills crept up Michael’s back. Skyler might have been aware of all of this for a long time.

Unlike what Lily said, he actually cared about Jocelyn. He cared for her a lot. That was the reason why

he wanted to make the Whites pay for everything that they have done through such means.

Howard had almost raped Jocelyn through the scheme that he had set up previously. Lily had been

bullying Jocelyn ever since she was young. Meanwhile, Lynn had definitely done something to offend

Jocelyn. Otherwise, Skyler would not choose to take action against the Whites!

The Quirrel family was now dead. Lynn and Howard had passed away. Lily was handicapped. She was

now both a joke and a widow.

terrifying! Michael felt chills spread across his heart the more he thought about it. He had finally come to

a realization. He had offended Skyler by treating Jocelyn so badly in the past.

Skyler would not let the White family go. He had to come up with a plan to prevent this from happening
