Chapter 660
Avery, the ever–dutiful, had come to share a dinner with his father Jeff.
The dining hall once filled with laughter and chatter, was now hauntingly silent save for the two of them.
During the meal, Avery relayed the latest gossip about the Ashbourne family to Jeff.
The old man slapped his thigh gleefully. “Haha! So that’s why Emeric’s been missing all the events!
Turns out he’s sick enough to be in the ICU!”
He used to brag about his iron constitution. Well, wasn’t this a kick in the teeth? With all those women
in his room every day, who wouldn’t be worn out?”
Avery lowered his lashes and drank water.
“My good son, you’ve brought me some great news!”
Jeff chuckled, making a toast across the space. “With Emeric out of the picture, the Ashbourne family
and the K Group must be in chaos, trying to keep up appearances. And if Cassius goes down too, the
K Group would be without a leader. Oh, it’ll be our time to retaliate and settle old scores!”
Just then, a voice sliced through the quiet.
“Dad! The Chambers Group’s big break is finally here!”
Matthew, who had been absent for a long time, stormed into the dining hall, his lips twitching with
poorly concealed excitement.

Having completely lost trust, Jeff waved him off impatiently. “I’ve told you, don’t meddle in the
Chambers Group affairs anymore. Avery is enough. And, have you packed yet? Didn’t I tell you to take
over the branch overseas as soon as possible? When are you planning to leave?”
Each question was a clear dismissal.
Matthew’s eyes burned red with resentment, his gaze flicking spitefully over Avery’s calm demeanor!
He had no intention of going abroad to chew on dried mangoes. He was determined to stay and turn
the tides!
“Dad, if I heard right, you want Cassius to fall?”
Matthew sneered menacingly. “I have a way to bring Cassius down fast, to drag him from his pedestal.”
“You? With what?” Jeff scoffed, his disdain palpable.
“I know a secret, one that could rock the nation, enough to ruin Cassius‘ reputation and destroy his
future!”
Avery gracefully lifted his cup again, hiding the smirk that was nearly escaping his lips.
“Well, that’s some big talk.”
Jeff muttered, tossing his napkin onto the table. “Go on, tell us your secret. If it works, you’ll have a
seat at the dining table by
tomorrow.”
“If it really works, not only will I have my seat, but I’ll also reclaim my rightful position as CEO!” Matthew
glared fiercely at Avery.
Jeff frowned, “You’d better.”
“Dad, let’s do as my elder brother suggests,” Avery interjected humbly. “The position was originally his.
It’s natural for him to be discontented now that I have it. But it’s OK we’re family. If Matthew truly has a
way to deal with Cassius, then let him lead the Chambers Group. I’d be completely satisfied being a
board member and executive director.”
Hearing this, Jeff looked at his younger son with newfound appreciation for his magnanimity.
He felt even more that Matthew is not worth considering.
Matthew approached his father, bending down to his ear with a trembling fervor, “Cassius‘
homosexual!”
Jeff’s eyes widened in shock. “What did you say?!”
“Dad, I have proof, undeniable proof!”
Matthew’s eyes shone, “I know not just that he’s gay, but I also know who his male lover is. Once I
release the evidence, Cassius is finished! It’s a stain he’ll never wash away, and he’ll never rise again!”

Chapter 660
“Who is he with?” Jeff’s interest piqued.
“Someone you couldn’t even dream of.”
Matthew said with a sly grin. “If I expose their affair, not just Cassius, but the entire Skyrim and
Elmsworth business community will be rocked by the scandal. Imagine Emeric, sick as he is, finding
out his eldest son, of whom he is so proud, is a homosexual–a defiance of public morals, an outcast of
society. Do you think he’ll survive the news?”
Jeff couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He knew Emeric’s temper all too well.
This would be the end of him!
“Show me the photos first, let’s have a good look!”
“Dad, leave it to me to handle. Once it’s done, you can have your fill of looking,” Matthew replied, wary
of Avery stealing his thunder.
This credit, he wanted all to himself.
“Well, since my big brother has taken the reins, then I’ll just wish you success in advance,” Avery said,
lifting his glass with an innocently disarming smile.
