“I will fucking kill you!” Dominic growled at Derrick as he kneeled down in front of a badly injured Athena. He took her in his arms
while hugging her tightly. His expensive white shirt was getting bloodied by her.
She was having a really hard time keeping her eyes opened, yet she was trying her best to do that because of two reasons.
First, she couldn’t believe that Dominic came to save her. Second, she was happy that she wouldn’t be dying or be going with
Derrick. She knew Dominic won’t let that happen in a million years.
She didn’t know from where this much trust was coming from but she just knew!
“Don’t interfere here, alpha Dominic. It’s none of your business!” Derrick growled at Dominic after getting u p from the ground.
He tried to take a step toward them but Dominic’s one glare was enough to stop him in his tracks. That’s the power he held. Even
Derrick’s warriors weren’t brave enough to stay ten feet near him. And the witch? I t ran away already.
“How dare you say that to me?! It’s fucking my territory!” Dominic let out another growl as his eyes turned completely black,
ready to kill a few. He wanted to even kill Derrick but as the leader of the territory, he won’t be able to do that without discussing
it with the counsellors. Because it could throw him out of his throne. Not that he was afraid of anyone.
But it was still so fucking frustrating!
“It might be but I will leave as soon as I get my job done here.” Derrick announced while gritting his teeth t o contain his anger.
Because he already ruined everything by going through his anger. If he hadn’t been a stupid and left the place earlier, then the
witch would have removed all the trace of something happening there. Everything would have gone silently and peacefully. But
he just ruined everything even though everything was going s o smoothly.
But now that he thinks, he realised that it was all Athena’s plan. She was wasting time deliberately to buy some time before
someone comes to find her and eventually saves her. She even got beaten for that.
That sneaky little bitch!
“What’s that fucking job that you are doing here in my territory?! If beating her is your job, then you better send your prayers to
the goddess because I am going to kill you today! How dare you touch her?! I will fucking rip your hands off of your shoulder for
touching her!” Dominic shouted in anger while literally shaking to make his words come true.
He wouldn’t stop himself from doing so if someone else was with him to take care of Athena. Because he can’t just leave her
almost dying here to kill Derrick. Who knows if his people take her away in that mean time.
No! He can’t let that happen. He was ready to even tolerate Derrick to keep her safe.
Why was he being so caring toward her suddenly?
“I am telling you again, don’t interfere in my matter. I will see how to handle my mate. I beat her, love her, kill her or keep her
alive. It’s my decision because she is my mate. She belongs to me.” Derrick announced in a strong tone and that was like a
bomb for both of them, Dominic and Athena. They looked at him in shock and confusion. 1
“Mate?”
“Mate?”
They both asked at the same time. They shared a confused look before looking back at Derrick to understand what he meant.
“Yes, your maid, this woman, Athena. She is my mate. And I am here to take her with me!” Derrick once again said in the same
strong and confidence filled tone while smirking down at both of them.
*Are you fucking kidding me?” Dominic growled while pulling Athena closer to his heart, hugging her tighter as he glared at him
murderously. The thought of Athena not being his anymore, made him want to destroy everything.

On the other hand, Athena was confused would be an understatement. Mate? Derrick was calling himself as her mate? Why?
Why was he lying? Why was he lying so confidently?

yet again forced his steps to halt.
“Don’t fuck with me! She is not your mate! She can’t be your mate! Did you hear me? Don’t even dare to come near her! I will
fucking kill you!” He growled in anger. His canines were coming out and he was ready to tear Derrick apart.
His wolf was getting restless and badly wanted to come and do the job of killing Derrick. How dare he talk about his mate like
that?!
“And why is that? Why do you think she can be my mate? How would you even know that?” Derrick asked with a smirk as he
raised his eyebrows at Dominic mockingly.
“Because..... Because she is... she...” Dominic’s heartbeat rose as he looked at Athena. He didn’t know how to express what
she was to him. It was not hard but he felt as if he didn’t have the right to do so.
On the other hand, Athena felt hurt seeing the hesitation in him. For the first time that night, tears rolled down her eyes. She
didn’t cry even for once, despite all the beating that night. This pain was ten times stronger than the physical pain.
“You are still hesitant to acknowledge that, huh? I am that shameful for you... it’s okay... I understand... Ahh ... yo...you don’t
ne...need to say something you don’t accept...” Athena coughed out some blood as spoke up. She was getting weaker by every
passing second.
“Shut up, bitch! You are my mate and I don’t allow you to talk to any other male!” Derrick growled and it sounded funny to both of
them. They both ignored him as she was busy trying to keep calm while he was trying to wrap his mind around what she said.
Was he ashamed of her? Yes. Was he ashamed of her at that moment? No! Every negative feeling just vanished into thin air and
he was left with nothing else other than the fear of losing her.
“How fucking dare you touch MY MATE! I will fucking kill you! She is mine! So, don’t even try to touch her again! That will be the
last day of you in this world. Do you understand me?!” He growled while pulling Athena more than closer, trying to protect her by
his tight hug.
At that moment, Athena was shocked would be an understatement. She was beyond that as she looked a t him with fascination,
“Your mate? Now is that some kind of joke? She is my mate and I can prove that!” Derrick spoke up in confidence, shocking
them again.
“How?” Dominic asked with gritted teeth.
“The mate bond. Nothing is more powerful than the mate bond for mates. Now, let’s see if she can feel it with you or me. With
whoever she feels it, she is his mate.” Derrick said with a smirk, confusing them once again. They both looked at each other
before looking back at Derrick.
“Okay then.” Athena breathed out and slowly raised her shaking hands up to Dominic’s cheeks and cupped his face. Within a
few seconds her eyes widened in shock and disbelief. “D...do... Dominic... Dominic! I...I can’t feel it! Dominic!” She cried out
when she couldn’t feel the spark after touching her and that’s when he realised the same thing as well.
The sparks were gone.
“M...me too... What’s happening? Why can’t I feel the connection with you anymore? It was there a moment ago as well. Why?!”
Dominic exclaimed in shock and confusion while touching her face and caressing her face repeatedly to feel those magical
sparks which they ignored till then.
“Okay, how about now, mate?” Derrick asked with a smirk as he touched her this time as she immediately pulled her hand away
and looked at him in shock.

“I don’t know what’s happening, Dominic! .... .... why do I feel the connection with him?” She cried out loud i n despair and
shock.

and scooted closer to Dominic and hid her face on his chest.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t! You are not my mate! That’s not possible! Why is this happening, oh goddess?” She cried out loud in fear
and weirdness. She didn’t like what she was feeling at all.
“I think I know the reason.” Derrick spoke up with a smirk. “I have heard that you two don’t accept both of you as each other’sFollow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm
mate? He rejected you and is now going to mark another woman while you were: going to accept his rejection as well. Isn’t that
right?” He asked with a raised eyebrow and Dominic immediately looked down at her with a frown. He felt another wave of anger
hit him if what he already had on his plate wasn’t enough.
“What?! What were you going to do?” He asked in shock and disbelief, mostly in anger. The accused look h e gave her, angered
her as well.
“What else do you expect me to do?! I can’t just stand there and see myself die!” She shouted and he looked at her in shock. “Do
you realise that I was dying. Because the mate bond was killing me! All : because of you!” She shouted and punched on his
chest, exactly at the place where she gave him the wound. He gritted his teeth tightly to bear the pain.
*You don’t have to die. Enough of talking. Now I am taking my mate with me, alpha Dominic. You don’t have any right to stop me,
otherwise we both will have some problem and I won’t mind dragging the councils for this.” Derrick threatened, getting control
over the situation again, or so he thought.
“Are you fucking trying to scare me? What made you think that you can scare me and let alone take her away from me?!”
Dominic scoffed. He can only imagine how funny Derrick sounded in front of him at that moment.
“What rights do you have to stop her? You hate her. You rejected her and were going to mark another woman. So, why do you
care now?” Derrick shouted when he realised that his plan was going to South again!
“.....she...” Derrick’s question caught him off guard again and it angered her at the same time. “Yes, why do you care now? What
rights do you have? We don’t even have the connection anymore! Maybe the moon goddess took that away and ended the
misery for you. Maybe we are actually not mates any more. Isn’t that great? Isn’t that what you wanted? Congratulations, you got
that.” She snapped and tried to pull herself away from him but he tightened his hold around her instead.
“Fuck mate bond! Fuck connection! You are mine, you belong to me! And I am not going to let what’s mine take away from me.
So, fuck everything and I am going to take what’s mine at any cost! Do you understand that?” Dominic shouted in frustration
while looking deep into her eyes, shocking her.
“Are you planning to fight me, Alpha Dominic? How are you going to fight me alone? You are alone today and no matter how
powerful you are, you cannot stand my big army. Do you think it will be worth risking everything just for this mere bitch?” Derrick
asked with a smirk as he thought that he was going to win the fight no matter what.
What an idiot he was!
“Don’t fucking touch her! You don’t have to worry about me! I am alone enough to save my mate. Do you fucking understand?”
Dominic declared while standing up while pulling Athena up with her as well. He put her behind him while glaring at him with
gritted teeth. He was ready to fight if necessary. He didn’t even need to mindlink his people for help.
He was enough.
“Also, you are fucking delusional to think we will let you take our Luna away just like that.”
They three went frozen in shock as they heard the familiar voice. They all turned around to look at Nathan standing proudly a few.
feets away from them. Behind him was a big group of soldiers whose leader was Justin at that moment.
And it was clear from their faces that they were ready for a fight.
“Attack them!” Derrick suddenly announced and it became a bloody mess within a few seconds.
Dominic and Derrick started to fight as well while not shifting. They didn’t want to kill that day because it was really dangerous for
the community.
Athena watched all these from a little distance from them when she suddenly noticed something.
Silver!
After that everything happened so fast that she didn’t realise what happened until she found herself standing in front of Dominic,
shielding himself from the deadly thing and taking the attack on herself. Not caring that it could kill her as well, “ATHENA!”
