Chapter 120
When Gillian received a call from Tracy, she was in the middle of seeing a patient.
Since she was a child, she, Jarron, and Olivia had learned traditional medicine together from Isaac.
However, when she went to college, she switched to modern medicine and specialized in pediatrics.
Due to her exceptional medical skills and gentle nature, she was highly regarded by parents and
children alike and was a well–known pediatrician in the area. At less than 30 years old, she had already
become an associate chief physician. There were many people who sought her out for
appointments, and there were often long queues that stretched through the night.
Gillian reached out and gently touched the soft, rosy cheeks of the 5–year–old girl in front of her. She
kindly advised the parents for a few moments, issued a medical prescription, and then let them leave.
After that, she walked to the door and locked it. When she made sure that she was the only one left in
the room, she spoke, “Tracy, what’s going on?” Gillian’s voice was incredibly gentle, like a clear spring,
instantly soothing Tracy’s agitation. She didn’t get angry at Tracy’s questions, and she didn’t even
furrow her brow. Her voice was neither hurried nor slow, it flowed like a gentle breeze, carrying an
indescribable sense of comfort. “Don’t be upset for now. Take your time and tell me what’s going on.
I’m here to listen.”
Hearing such a gentle voice, Tracy’s anger diminished by half. Then, thinking of Gillian’s tender

situation, including the conflict between Cynthia and Olivia, as well as the current top trending topic on
Twitter.
After finishing, Tracy asked curiously, “Wasn’t this recipe created by you? How can Olivia claim it as
her own?”
Tracy was genuinely puzzled. She believed Gillian deep down, but she couldn’t explain how Olivia
knew the recipe so well.
“So Olivia claims she created the recipe?” Gillian asked, her tone tinged with mild surprise./
“Yes, that’s what she said.” Tracy nodded.
Hearing this, Gillian sighed, her tone carrying a hint of helplessness and

A hunt of madness appeared in Cillian’s eves.
Ever since she was young, everyone always praised her for having a good personality and being gentle
and considerate. However, Gillian despised those words the most. She hated it when people praised
her for having a good temper
From childhood to adulthood, she and Olivia were by Isane’s side. Everyone who saw them would
praise Olivia. People praised her for being beautiful, saying she was stuming and that they had never
seen such a pretty young lady before. They also complimented her for being intelligent, having an
excellent memory, being quick to learn, filial, imaginative, and capable. People could only see Olivia,
and Olivia was all they saw.
However, when faced with Gillian, everyone found themselves at a loss for words, not knowing what to
compliment. After struggling for a while, all they managed to say was that she had a good
temperament. Thinking of this, a hint of irony thickered in Gillian’s eyes. How absurd! Even though she
hated being praised for her good temperament and kindness, she had to put on a gentle facade
because it was the only way she could surpass Olivia. It she lost her gentleness, she would be truly
worthless.
She hung up the phone, walked to the window, and gazed at the blue sky outside, lost in thought.

consumed by a towering rage and unwillingness. She was on the verge of collapsing.
Why? Why? Why?
Why was her grandfather so biased? What was so good about Olivia? She had even given up studying
medicine, so why should she inherit the family legacy?
Gillian did not understand what was wrong with her and Jarron. Both of them had worked hard to study
medicine and diligently treated patients. They were respectful towards Isaac and obeyed his every
word, but he could never see them.
Gillian was the first child Isaac had adopted, and she had spent the most time with him. Therefore, she
did not know why Isaac chose to leave the family legacy to Olivia in the end. Why was he so biased?
She could not understand it and she was even more unwilling to accept it. She was determined to
obtain the family legacy. It was rightfully hers and hers alone! Only she could elevate the family’s
medical expertise and. make it renowned worldwide.
Gillian believed her grandfather had grown old and muddle–headed. Otherwise, why should someone
like Olivia, who did not practice medicine, inherit the Smith family? She would not allow it, and neither
would other members of the family!
