“Someone important? Who?” Dustin asked.

“The King.” Grace dropped a bombshell.

“Huh?” Dustin frowned slightly, feeling puzzled. Wasn’t the King ill and bedridden? Why would he want to meet him?

Dustin wondered if it concerned the Dragon Guard or perhaps the vital force. Would this journey be dangerous?

Would there be an ambush waiting for him in Aylka?

“You can stop the blind guessing,”

Grace said calmly, seemingly seeing through his concerns.

“If the King wanted to harm you, he wouldn’t have sent me here to invite you. He would have just sent the elite

fighters from the palace or even the Imperial Guards. Given your current condition, would you even be able to fight

them off?”

Dustin breathed a silent sigh of relief after hearing her. Admittedly, Grace had made a valid point. If the King truly

intended to harm him, he wouldn’t have sent just one woman.

Considering the current circumstances, only a fool would aggravate the problem. After all, with the Dragon Guard

eliminated, the highest priority for the royal family now was to consolidate power.

If anything were to happen to Dustin in Oakvale, it would undoubtedly escalate tensions. If the West Lucozian army

invaded, it would be a fatal blow to the royal family.

However, since that was all in principle, he still had to make sure.

“Ms. Linsor, may I know why the King wishes to see me at this late hour?”

Dustin probed for information.

“I’m not sure either, but it’s important.

“Grace kept her response vague.

“If you won’t talk, I won’t be going.” Dustin became disinterested when he failed to fish for information.

“You-”

Grace was slightly frustrated, but for the greater good, she responded patiently, “I’m not sure about the details, but

it probably has to do with important matters of the nation. For example, choosing the next successor or

strengthening the borders.”

“I see.” Dustin nodded, seemingly deep in thought.

“Can you come with me now?” Grace asked.

“Seems like there’s no way to avoid it. But before we leave, I need to write a letter. Please hold on,” Dustin replied

before finding a piece of paper to pen the letter.

Calling for Maximus, he instructed him, “Maximus, keep this letter safe for me. Find another place to stay tonight. If

you don’t hear from me by daybreak, head to West Lucozia immediately with this letter.”

“Understood!” Maximus nodded and swiftly departed.

“You’re pretty cautious, Logan.” Grace frowned slightly but quickly schooled her expression.

She was aware that Dustin was just taking precautions against a potential ambush by the royal family, with the

letter serving as evidence.

“What can I say? It’s better to be safe than sorry.” Dustin said impassively.

“Since you’ve done everything you need to do, can we leave now, Your Highness?” Grace said somewhat

resentfully.

“Let’s go.” Dustin nodded.

Led by Grace, they headed straight for Aylka.
