Sophia's life had settled into a temporary calm after Amanda's departure.
The design for the university's new science center, spearheaded by Brandon and President Poe, had finally been approved. It was
now moving into the planning permission phase.
Brandon had funded the construction of this science center under Sophia's name.
To ensure the quality and oue of the project, the construction team was entirely managed by Starlight Group, with Brandon
personally overseeing everything.
The funds and the team were all set on Brandon's end, just waiting for the green light to start the project.
Brandon hadn’t mentioned to Sophia that the science center was being built in her name. Apart from Kent and President Poe, no

President Poe, unaware that Sophia was in the dark, never brought it up in her presence.
Thus, the science center project moved forward smoothly, and with the plans temporarily settled, Sophia found herself with little to
do.
Perhaps it was due to her memory loss, but whenever Sophia had downtime, her mind felt like a blank slate, leaving her with an
inexplicable sense of anxiety.
"I think | want to get a job," she said one afternoon over lunch, unable to hold back any longer.
Brandon paused, looking up from his burger. "You used to be the design director at Star Dempsey Architects. Don’t you want to go
back there?"
Sophia shook her head gently, meeting his gaze. "If | went back, everyone there knows me, but I've otten them. That
imbalance makesfeel uneasy, like | could unintentionally hurt someone without realizing it. Starting fresh in a new
environment feels less pressured.”
She paused, then continued, "Besides, now that everyone knows about us, they might only seeas your... wife, rather than for
my skills."
She stumbled slightly over the words "your wife," still getting used to the idea.
Brandon considered her words, then nodded. "If you feel pressured about going back, then it's tfor a new stage."
Sophia was pleasantly surprised by his easygoing response and couldn't help but smile at him. "Alright then."
It was the kind of satisfied, small smile of a girl who just got her way.
Brandon returned her smile, not saying much more.
Meanwhile, little Theresa, who had been quietly eating her mac and cheese, looked up, puzzled. "Mommy's not going to work with
Daddy?"
Brandon turned to her, ruffling her hair. "Mommy will always be working with Daddy."
"But..." Theresa furrowed her brows, trying to grasp the logic. She only knew that Mommy might not be working in the splace
as Daddy.
"So, if | want to visit Daddy at his office, can | still find Mommy there?"
