Chapter 887
"I had sthings to take care of earlier, but I'm afraid | can't share the details. | hope you understand," Finn
said in a calm voice.
Christine seemed to buy it, nodding slightly. "I see."
Finn nodded in agreement. "Exactly."
Christine smiled, but her eyes narrowed. "You went to handle your business, but what about the others?"
"They have their own matters to attend to."
"So," Christine's gaze sharpened, "all of you are busy, and there's no one guarding the hotel entrance. Aren't you
worried that while he's in bed with me, an enemy might cand kill him?"
There was a pause as Finn found himself momentarily lost, as though his young master was casually questioning
him about any mistakes he might have made, only to coldly assign him to sremote outpost, much like Primo
in Africa.
Realizing the danger of saying too much, he decided to keep it simple. "Ms. Jackson, it's not safe outside. You
should wait for Mr. Northwood here in the hotel."
Christine didn't buy into the supposed danger. She needed to see Duke

many enemies, she didn't want to take any chances.
"If you don't step aside, I'll scream for help. There are cameras everywhere, and," she stepped closer, "what do
you think your master will do if he thinks you laid a hand on me?"
Finn felt that the Clarkson family's concern about Christine lacking the background to be with Dailey was
unfounded. Serena had a good family background, yet she was still taken away by The Warrens and eventually
had to plead for Dailey's help. Nelly had schemed against Christine, and even Dailey, as clever as he was, had
been outmaneuvered. Why blChristine alone for not being able to help Dailey on his thorny path?
She was quite impressive, after all.
"Ms. Jackson," Finn continued, "Primo has been sent to Africa. Now it's just the four of us with the young master.
If I'm gone too, dealing with Libby's incident will be tough. You cared for Mr. Northwood once; surely you wouldn't
want him to lose half his life."
Christine remained indifferent. "That's none of my business. I'm not his mother or his girlfriend. Besides, being
with him putsin danger."
"That's not true," Finn protested. "Mr. Northwood would rather die than let you cto harm."
"I don't want that!" Christine shouted. "I don't need him risking his life for me!"
Finn was stunned by her outburst, but what really unsettled him was seeing Christine in tears. If the young
master saw this, Finn knew he'd be in serious trouble. Quickly, he fumbled in his pocket for a tissue and handed
it to her.
"Ms. Jackson, | really think you should sit down and have a calm talk with Mr. Northwood."
"It's unnecessary." Christine brushed past him.
Finn blocked her path. "I understand you have your reasons, but please try to see my side. I'm devoted to
serving the young master and must always consider his best interests, standing firmly by his side.
"So, I'm sorry, but | can't let you leave."
"Also, Nelly's whereabouts are unknown. She's a hidden threat, and you're in significant danger. Please,
understand."
Christine reached out, only to find her hand caught by a firm grip.
"You can't take him on. Don't get yourself hurt."
Finn backed off, not daring to engage further. Christine, however, was incensed
by the figure before her and lashed out with a kick.
"Let go!"
Dailey wrapped his arm around her,

Dailey gently pressed her onto the bed, reaching to remove her pants.
Christine caught his hand. "I'm fine."

softly.
