"Since your old parents helped us before and they couldn't afford to lose two sons at once, plus the fact that you
have a son, | gave you a chance to redeem yourself. Your brother noticed it. That's why he made you kill him.
"Lars chose death not just because he wants to give you all the credit. He also wanted to protect you. Only with
his death, you wouldn't be exposed."
Nico's eyes widened in shock.
Ethan looked at him and continued, "That's why. You're wrong. It was notwho killed Lars Wyatt. It was he
who chose death so that you could live."

Tommy was afraid. He did not try to argue with his father, but simply walked out and then bought an air ticket to

Tommy anxiously walked into the mansion, and when he saw Ethan, he gulped nervously.
"Mr. Rivers," he said respectfully before he even got close.
Ethan smiled at Tommy.
The father had just left and the son arrived. Judging from Tommy's messy hair and the leaf on his shoulder, he

Tommy went up to Ethan and fell down on his knees with a thump.
"Mr. Rivers, please stop my father. He killed the village chief of Stone Village and usurped his position. He's
leading people into the woods to commit deforestation, hunt protected animals, and excessively gather herbs,
plus devastate the mines. They are working for the people beyond the borders as well!"
Tommy spilled every crhis father had done up until this point. "He wants to ruin Hill City!"
Ethan said, "I know. Your father ctothis morning and bragged about his deeds to me."
Tommy looked surprised. He knew his father was bold but not as much as bragging in front of Ethan.
Ethan said, "Get up. | have something | want to ask you."
Tommy stood up and stood still timidly.
