Though worried, Phoebe nodded and said, "I'll wait for you outside. Just callif you need anything." Eileen's brow furrowed as she gazed out the window. The darkness outside seemed to stretch out like a hand reaching for her, leaving her breathless and devoid of hope.
The few minutes Eileen had asked for were really just moments for her to vent her frustration.
As Eileen walked out of the ward, Phoebe heard her footsteps and immediately got up from the bench. She saw Eileen stand before her with resolve in her eyes.
Eileen had composed herself. Her long hair was neatly tied back, giving her a more resilient appearance. Besides the red rims around her eyes, a gauze-wrapped wound adorned her forehead.
"This is the medicine the doctor prescribed," Phoebe said, handing Eileen the medication Josue had given her. Eileen accepted it with a curt nod. “I'll go find him,” she said.

You can visit when you're free, and I won't be coming here every day either." Eileen had once centered her life entirely around Bryan, but now, Gabriela was also a part of her world. Their friends, too, had their own commitments, and they couldn't remain in the hospital all the time.
No one knew the effort Eileen had put into making this decision.
Josue glanced at Bryan, his brow furrowing as he nearly lost his composure. If they were barely holding on, how could Eileen manage?

"Yes," Eileen replied with a strained smile. She took a deep breath, sat down beside Bryan, and gently warmed his cold hands. "Bryan, did you hear what I said? We'll return to our daily routines from now on."
