Chapter 235 I'll Always Be With You Just as Jack and I were speaking, Elsa suddenly appeared, looking as innocent as ever. "Jack, Jane, are you two arguing?" I rolled my eyes. This act of hers was so nauseating that it almost madewant to throw up yesterday's meal. "We're not arguing," I said, forcing a fake smile. "I was simply scolding your dear brother." Elsa's expression instantly shifted to one of distress as she looked at Jack with concern. "Jack, what's going on?" I let out a cold laugh. "You mean to tellyou don't know?" Jack's face twisted with anguish. He looked at Elsa hesitantly, then said in a testing tone, "Elsa... everything you askedto do... Was it really for my sake? Was it really for the good of the Brown Group?" Elsa flinched. Her gaze darted towardin a brief panic before she quickly grabbed Jack's sleeve, forcing a smile. "Jack, Jane is still here..." I spread my hands in amusement. "So what? Aren't we family?" I deliberately emphasized the word "family".
The color drained from Elsa's face. Her eyes welled up with tears as she glanced betweenand Jack.

How could you doubt me?" As soon as the words left her mouth, she cast one last sorrowful glance at us, then covered her mouth and ran away.
Jack panicked instantly and ran after her. "Elsa!" I watched the two figures disappear down the hallway and let out a long sigh.
It looked like everything I just said was for nothing.
However, what I didn't expect was for Jack to show up at my and Eric's villa that very night. After seeing his cold, impassive expression on the doorbell monitor, I had no intention of opening the door.
Eric glanced at the screen and raised an eyebrow. "What's he doing here?" I shook my head. "No idea. But it's probably nothing good." I had barely been hfor long when I received a message from Jack, tellingto go back. Since he didn't give a reason, I didn't bother replying. And that was why he ended up chasingall the way here.
Just as I was thinking about it, my phone rang. It was Jack.

"And why would I? So I can go back and get scolded again?" For a brief moment, there was silence on the other end. Then, Jack spoke again. "Cback and apologize to Elsa. She got so worked up because of you that she fainted. She just woke up, but now, she has locked herself in her room and won't cout no matter how much we call out to her." I curled my lips in disinterest. "And what does that have to do with me? Are you sure she passed out because ofand not because of your own doubts about her?" The silence on the other end grew even longer.
Just when I thought he was about to give up, he suddenly spoke again. "If you hadn't slandered her, I never would have doubted her in the first place. At the end of the day, this is your fault. You need to cback and see her." I thought for a moment, then gave a light nod. "Fine." After hanging up, I turned to see Eric watchingwith a puzzled expression. He clearly did not understand why I had suddenly agreed.
I smiled and explained, "If I refuse, they'll probably drag my parents into ag my parents this mess. There's no need for that. Besides, I want to see what kind of gshe's playing this time."
With that, I headed to my room to change out of my pajamas. Whem! cout, Eric was already standing by the door, fully dressed. He was looking atwith gentle eyes.
Upon noticing my confusion, he carefully wrapped a scarf around my O neck. Then, he said softly, "Since I'm N here, there's no way I'm letting you go back alone. No matter what happens, I'll always be with you."
