Chapter 250 Serena snapped out of her daze, but her face was still ghostly pale.
After a long moment, her hands trembling, she pulled out her phone and started frantically scrolling, almost as if possessed.
The three men present exchanged uneasy glances, clearly unsettled by her behavior.
"Serena..." William spoke gently, trying to reach her.

Finally, she lifted her head, clutching her phone, and hurried over to Finn. "Is this the sweater?" she asked, hope and anxiety mingling in her eyes.
Finn looked helplessly at William, then after a pause, glanced at the phone screen. His expression changed instantly. "Yes-that's the one!" All the light seemed to drain from Serena in an instant.
She blinked hard several times, then said quietly, "Sorry, I need sair." With that, she strode out to the backyard, disappearing like a sudden breeze. Giles and Finn were left bewildered, exchanging confused looks.
Only William watched Serena's retreating figure with deep concern. After a moment, he turned his wheelchair, grabbed a box of tissues from the table, and followed her outside.
"If you want to cry, just let yourself. You don't have to hold it in," William said softly, offering her the tissues. Serena's eyes were rimmed red. She took the tissues from him, murmuring a quiet thank you, then gazed up at the vast blue sky.
"I just never imagined Aaron would go so far just to keepfrom winning," she whispered.
William's eyes were full of sympathy. "That sweater..." "I knitted it for him," Serena said, her voice unsteady. "He said it was ugly and tossed it out. The only people who could have found it are the Vance family." William pinched the bridge of his nose. "Can I see the sweater?" Serena hesitated a second, then handed him her phone.
He gave the photo a quick glance, and his brows knit together. Such a cute sweater-how could Finn have called it ugly? Was there something wrong with his taste? Reluctantly, William handed the phone back to Serena, feeling a pang of envy toward Aaron.
Serena managed a faint smile. "I'm fine now. Let's go back inside." The air was growing colder, a sharp wind starting to blow. Serena worried about William's health in the chill.

He quickly gave Giles a rundown of what had happened in court.
When Giles learned that William had taken his place to face Nestor Leighton— and had nearly won-his respect for William grew instantly, along with his own confidence.
"This place isn't safe," William said. "I'll arrange for you to stay somewhere else until the trial is over. Then you can cback." Giles had only one reaction: total respect. He had no objections.
William had someone arrange Giles's new accommodations, then drove Serena home.
When they reached her building, William stopped her as she was about to get out. "Serena." She turned, curious. "What is it?" "If you ever need to cry, you can callanytime."
Serena froze for a moment, then smiled. "Don't worry. I won't be m crying. Now that I'm done with Aaron, better days are ahead-what's there to cry about?"
Her smile, illuminated by the moon outside the car window, was clear and radiant. William finally felt reassured. He nodded, a faint smile on his lips. "Go on." Serena answered softly and walked away.
When her figure disappeared from William's view, his eyes were left with nothing but quiet loneliness. She didn't need him.
