Chapter 193 Rock had searched the school grounds thoroughly, but Serena was nowhere to be found. Determined, he tried dialing her number once more.

Fortunately, this time, the call connected.

"Serena, where are you?" he asked, relief washing over him.

"I'm in the auditorium," Serena replied, her voice calm and unchanged.

Rock's heart finally settled back into place. "I'm coming right over." "Okay." After hanging up, Rock jogged over to the auditorium, and there she was, seated where she usually sat, intently watching the performance on stage, oblivious to the admiring glances from the boys around her.

Rock strode over confidently and took a seat next to Serena. The boys, seeing this, turned their gazes away, a mix of envy and reluctant admiration in their eyes.

"Serena, where did you go earlier?" Rock's eyes took in her outfit. Today, she wore a white blouse with a pink skirt, topped with a pink blazer-elegant and stylish.

Serena continued watching the performance. "I wasn't feeling well, so I went to the restroom." "I see," Rock nodded, his eyes moving from the peony embroidered on her blazer's cuff. He remembered her previous jacket had plum blossoms instead.

Serena glanced at Rock from the corner of her eye, relieved to see he hadn't noticed anything amiss.

Earlier, she had heard Joy's voice from the room and immediately understood what was happening. Joy's intention was clear-to keep her and Samuel apart. Realizing this, a whirlwind of emotions surged through her. "Do you really not want Samuel to see us together?" Aaron's voice suddenly broke through her thoughts, startling her. She looked up to find Aaron holding out a small pill.

"Take it," he insisted.

Serena's eyes widened-she recognized the pill. During events, Aaron always carried these antidotes in case someone tried to drug him. She had once seen it among his things and had asked him about it, recalling the moment with a smile at Aaron's rare display of vulnerability.

After taking the pill, the uncomfortable heat that had been building inside her began to dissipate. She had escaped through the window of the office on the first floor, following Aaron's instructions to a restroom where an identical set of clothes awaited her. She quickly changed and returned to the auditorium, relieved to find Samuel and the others hadn't noticed her absence. Thinking of Samuel, Serena's gaze dimmed slightly. Suddenly, a round of applause erupted from the audience, snapping her back to the present. The school celebration was nearing its end as the principal prepared to give his closing speech.

Serena looked up at the stage, but her eyes drifted to the VIP section. Aaron had returned, sitting in the center with a regal air, his presence commanding even in the audience. She couldn't see his face clearly, leaving his expression a mystery. Glancing down at her clothes, Serena felt a mix of emotions. Aaron hadn't needed to do anything, yet he had provided her with the antidote and the clothes. "...Alderburg University has reached this day," the principal's enthusiastic voice redirected Serena's attention, "thanks to the tireless efforts of our faculty and students, and the generous donations of our community supporters."
