236 Blind Date
“Zhang Li Xue, it seemed that now you have Doctor Bai, you have started to forget about your best friend,” Fang Su Jin complained when she saw her friend show up at the coffeehouse.
Zhang Li Xue could only laugh as she heard her friend’s complaint.
It was lunch hour and Fang Su Jin was visiting her at the hotel to have a meal together.
As she sat down in the empty seat, Fang Su Jin leaned over. Her eyes narrowed as she gave Zhang Li Xue a lookover. “Look at you. Now that you are in love, even the air around you has changed.”
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Zhang Li Xue waved her hand.
Fang Su Jin clicked her tongue. “I didn’t speak nonsense. It’s true. Your face is glowing.”
Zhang Li Xue touched her cheek, wondering if Fang Su Jin was telling her the truth.
“That’s right. When are you going to properly introduce Doctor Bai to me?” Fang Su Jin asked.
“He’s been busy with a few matters recently,” Zhang Li Xue spoke with a helpless tone. “I will have to ask him first.”

These days, the hospital was a bit busy. The time she could spend with him was limited. Most of the time, they could only have their date in his office or on the hospital’s rooftop. They haven’t made time to see her aunt yet.
When he was not at the hospital, Bai Qi would be meeting He Rong to discuss the investment he made not too long ago.
Being a supportive girlfriend, Zhang Li Xue did not want to disturb him too much.
Spending time with him was just as important as letting him do his job and grow.
Zhang Li Xue had always remembered the insecure Bai Qi.
She liked seeing him all spirited up. Her Doctor Bai Qi seemed more handsome whenever he was confident.
“I heard that you have been busy with your paintings recently,” Zhang Li Xue spoke. “Su Jin, are you planning to have another exhibition soon?”
“No. I just had some inspiration recently. But I’m not planning to have another exhibition so soon.”
After what happened with Mika in Capital City, Fang Su Jin decided to take some time off.
“But this had become a problem.” Fang Su Jin let out a long heavy sigh. “My mom thinks that I have been spending too much time indoors and now, she’s planning to arrange some blind dates for me.”
Zhang Li Xue was surprised to hear her friend’s words. “Blind dates?”
Fang Su Jin pouted. “Li Xue, tell me what should I do now? I don’t want to go on a blind date.”
“Why did your mother suddenly want you to go on a blind date?”
Zhang Li Xue knew Fang Su Jin’s mother for years. In her opinion, Fang Su Jin’s mother was a gentle and supportive woman. When Fang Su Jin told them that she wanted to study art, her mother had given her full support.
Therefore, instead of learning how to look after their family business in the future, Fang Su Jin could freely paint as much as she wanted to.
“My younger cousin is getting married next year,” Fang Su Jin spoke. “My mother became upset when she heard a few of our relatives saying how I still did not have a partner. It’s fine if they wanted to fight. But why am I getting dragged into this? I tried to talk some sense into my mom, but it seemed that this time, she was not listening. Li Xue, what do you think I should do?”
Zhang Li Xue pondered over this matter for a while. “I think, the only way you could stop your mom from setting you up with someone is by getting yourself a boyfriend.”
“Where am I going to find a boyfriend?” Fang Su Jin lowered her gaze. “God, I just wanted to watch my drama peacefully.”
The corner of Zhang Li Xue’s lips started to twitch. “Otherwise, you could also choose someone and let him pretend to be your boyfriend.” A mischievous smile curled on her lips. “I’ll lend to you, my brother. How about it?”
Fang Su Jin’s expression turned darker. “No way.”
After the misunderstanding in Capital City, Fang Su Jin hoped that she would never run into Zhang Yi Hai again. It was too embarrassing.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe two friends continued to chat in the hotel’s coffeehouse.
Just then, Zhang Li Xue’s phone chimed. She glanced at the caller ID and noticed that it was an unknown caller. She picked up the phone call and spoke, “Hello.”
“Hello, is this Miss Zhang?” A woman’s voice was on the other line.
A deep frown appeared on her face. Zhang Li Xue was sure that the caller shouldn’t be anyone she was familiar with. “Yes.”
“Miss Zhang, I’m teacher Jia from Y City Kindergarten.”
“Teacher Jia?” Zhang Li Xue thought that she had heard this name before. At this time, she could not figure out the reason why a kindergarten teacher would look for her.
“It’s like this. You are listed as one of Bai Xi Xi’s guardians.”
“Bai Xi Xi?” Hearing the name, Zhang Li Xue began to panic. “Teacher Jia, did something happen to Bai Xi Xi?”
Zhang Li Xue recalled that the last time she had attended Bai Xi Xi’s parents and teacher meeting, she had put her name as Bai Xi Xi’s guardian. This was the reason that the teacher had called her.
“Bai Xi Xi... she got into a fight with her classmate,” Teacher Jia spoke. “Usually, we would handle this matter ourselves, but her classmate’s parents wanted to see Bai Xi Xi’s guardian. I tried to reach for her brother, Mr. Bai, but he did not pick up the phone call. Since you are listed as Bai Xi Xi’s guardian, then, I have to call you.”
A few hours ago, Bai Qi had texted her to tell him that he would be assisting her Uncle Qi Zheng with a very important surgery. It was expected that it would take a few hours for the surgery to end.
“Teacher Jia, don’t worry. I will go to the kindergarten in a while.”
After exchanging a few more words, Zhang Li Xue ended the call.
“What’s the matter?” Fang Su Jin asked.
Zhang Li Xue tapped her fingers on her phone to text Bai Qi. Then, she made a note to call her supervisor and that she would be leaving the office for an emergency. “Bai Qi’s little sister got into trouble at her school. Bai Qi is in the middle of an operation. I have to go in his stead. Su Jin, do you want to come with me?”
