159 Pack Up Your Things and Leave
Bai Qi did not know what had happened, but from the moment he stepped into the department, he could not help but notice that his colleagues were whispering something secretly.
Initially, Bai Qi had not noticed anything. He walked out of the office and was preparing himself before his mentor showed up when Nurse Tian walked over and waved her hand at him.
“Nurse Tian, what’s the matter?” Bai QI asked as he approached closer.
“Doctor Bai, have you heard the news?” Nurse Tian whispered.
His brow furrowed. “What news?”
Nurse Tian began to look around. Then, she whispered again, “Director Xiao was fired.”
“What?” Bai Qi could not hide his surprise upon hearing the news.
Nurse Tian whispered again, “I heard that his daughter, Doctor Xiao Wan Zi would be transferred to the countryside.”
It took Bai Qi a while to process this news. “Nurse Tian, are you sure?”

The nurse nodded. “The news has been spreading around the hospital. Everyone has been discussing this matter. Doctor Bai, have you not noticed it?”
Bai Qi shook his head. He recalled his conversation with his mentor a few days ago. He wondered if Doctor Qi Zheng had done something to the father and daughter.
He was glad that the two of them would stop making trouble for him, but Bai Qi would not expect that Director Xiao would be fired and for Xiao Wan Zi to be transferred away.
After chatting with Nurse Tian, Bai Qi turned around, wanting to look for his mentor.
He was walking in the corridor absentmindedly when he heard someone call his name.
“Doctor Bai!”
Turning around, Bai Qi watched as Xiao Wan Zi ran in his direction with an anxious look on her face.
As Xiao Wan Zi has been the topic of everyone’s discussion for the past few hours, she quickly became the center of the attraction. However, Xiao Wan Zi did not seem to care about the people who were watching her. At this time, there was something else more important for her.
The look on Bai Qi’s face turned unpleasant when he saw Xiao Wan Zi in front of him. “Doctor Xiao, is there a problem?”
Xiao Wan Zi tried to catch her breath as she arrived in front of him. “Doctor Bai, you have to help me. I don’t want to be transferred to the countryside.”
As he recalled how Xiao Wan Zi had threatened him a few times, Bai Qi’s attitude towards her became colder.
Xiao Wan Zi stepped forward anxiously. She wanted to grab Bai Qi’s hand, but the man had pulled away before she could touch him. “Look, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pestered you in the past. I promise not to do it again. From now on, I’ll turn around and avoid you when I see you. But, Doctor Bai, you have to talk to Doctor Qi and make him stop my transfer.”
It was not long ago that she had received the official letter of her transfer to the countryside.
Xiao Wan Zi was going to talk about this matter to her father, but she later heard that her father was fired and had lost his license to practice.
It was acceptable for her father to lose his job because he was caught, trying to sabotage Bai QI’s surgery. However, how did Xiao Wan Zi have to be transferred as well?
Using the connection they still have, Xiao Wan Zi heard that the reason for her transfer had something to do with Bai Qi. Later, the father and daughter learned that Bai Qi had some backers.
They found out that Qi Zheng’s identity was not as ordinary as they had thought. It was just that... the man was too low-profile that no one seemed to know anything.
Xiao Wan Zi was not willing to move away and could only hope to find Bai Qi and asked him to help her.
“What does your transfer have anything to do with me?” Bai Qi said. “Doctor Xiao, I am merely someone without a background or backers. I’m sorry. I cannot help you.”
As he turned around to leave, Xiao Wan Zi grabbed his wrist to stop him. Fearing that Bai Qi was going to leave without helping her made her anxious. Tears welled up in her eyes and flow down her cheek. “No. You can’t leave. Doctor Bai, you have to help me.”
Xiao Wan Zi’s voice was a little too loud. In just seconds, more people were coming over to look at this excitement.

A woman can easily gain others’ sympathy. Moreover, the tears falling down her cheek made her appear a lot more pitiful. Just like that, the passerby deemed that Bai Qi was the bad guy in this situation.
“Doctor Xiao, let me go.” Bai Qi tried to fling that person’s hand away from him. However, Xiao Wan Zi only held him tighter.
“I won’t let go until you have promised me.”
“Doctor Xiao, what are you trying to do to my student?”
A deep, powerful voice reverberated across the corridor.
Turning around, Qi Zheng was walking over in their direction with a dark look on his face. His usually gentle demeanor was gone. This was the first time that Xiao Wan Zi had seen Qi Zheng this scary.
However, thinking of how she was going to move to the countryside, Xiao Wan Zi sucked in her fear and walked over to him, wanting to beg for his help.
“What is it? Just because your father used to be a director, you think that it was easy to bully Doctor Bai?” Qi Zheng did not bother to lower his voice. “Doctor Xiao, do you think it’s fun to bully my student?”
His words garnered everyone’s attention and they began to whisper among each other about what was going on. They had thought that perhaps, there was a misunderstanding between Bai Qi and Xiao Wan Zi. But from Qi Zheng’s words, it seemed that there was more to it.
“Doctor Qi, it wasn’t like that.”
“No?” Qi Zheng did not allow Xiao Wan Zi to explain. “Doctor Xiao, you better pack up your things now and leave.” He leaned over and spoke in a low, dangerous voice, “Otherwise, I’m afraid that you and your family won’t even be able to stay in this country.”
Fear crept into her body. Xiao Wan Zi stared at Qi Zheng and noticed the ruthlessness that she had never seen before.
Subconsciously, she took a step back and was unable to move.
Qi Zheng quickly shifted his gaze to his student. His expression was still unhappy. “Bai Qi, come with me.”
