156 What Did He Do To You?
On the next day, Bai Qi showed up at the hospital as usual.
Although Director Xiao had threatened to end his career, he still have his responsibility as a doctor and had to show up at work.
As usual, Bai Qi accompanied Qi Zheng going around the ward along with a few young doctors. After the young doctors had dispersed, Qi Zheng gave his student a few instructions.
“Do you have any other questions?” Qi Zheng asked as he watched the boy jotting down a few notes.
“No.”
“Then, I shall return to my office first. If there’s anything, come and find me in my office.”
Bai Qi nodded and hesitated.
After Zhang Li Xue left last night, Bai Qi has been thinking of her words a lot.
Perhaps the little fairy was right. Talking to someone might give him a new insight into what he should do. At this time, the only suitable person he could talk to right now was his mentor. Doctor Qi might not be able to help solve his problem, but he could at least give him some advice, right?
.....
“Doctor Qi, I don’t have any questions, but there is something that I need to talk to you about,” Bai Qi said. “I need your advice on something.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtQi Zheng quickly noticed the serious look on Bai Qi’s face. After considering it for a while he then nodded, “Then, come to my office and talk.”
Bai Qi heaved a breath of relief. He would be too uncomfortable if they have to discuss his matter in the corridor.
The two men entered the office.
Qi Zheng poured himself a glass of water before offering another to Bai Qi. “Come. Have a seat.”
Absentmindedly, Bai Qi took a sip of the water.
“I already told you that you can come over and talk to me if you run into any problem,” Qi Zheng said. “What are you being so shy about?” He slid into his chair and organized the documents on his desk. “Alright. What is it that you need to talk about.”
Bai Qi really did not know how to explain his situation. After all, how does he tell his mentor that he was being threatened because Doctor Xiao likes him?
“Doctor Qi, I wanted to report Director Xiao’s misuse of power, but I don’t know how or what should I do.”
“Director Xiao?” Qi Zheng frowned. The two of them rarely had an interaction. Therefore Qi Zheng was having difficulties remembering that person. “Are you talking about Doctor Xiao Wen Zi’s father?”
Doctor Xiao Wen Zi was one of the doctors in the hospital. Previously he had worked together with Doctor Xiao. Therefore, Qi Zheng remembered her well.
Bai Qi nodded. “Yes.”
“What is it? What did he do to you?”
With difficulties, Bai Qi began to tell his mentor about his interaction with Xiao Wen Zi and how Director Xiao had threatened him. Qi Zheng grew angrier when Bai Qi mentioned how Director Xiao had instructed someone to mess up with the schedule and not allow him to take a day off.
Was Director Xiao planning to work with his student until he was tired to death?
Director Xiao was not only bullying his student, but he was also threatening Bai Qi for his personal gain.
Bai Qi was the student that he had personally chosen and recruited. Did Director Xiao think it was easy to dismiss Bai Qi from the hospital just because he was not happy?
Who did he think he was?
What made Qi Zheng more furious was that Bai Qi had waited for a long time before he came to tell him what had happened.
Qi Zheng looked at his student with a dark face. “You waited this long to tell me about something so serious? Were you planning to suffer more before you come to me? Bai Qi, what did I tell you the last time? If you run into any trouble you should come over and see me!”
His lips pursed into a thin line. Bai Qi had not expected that Doctor Qi would be this furious because he had chosen to keep things to himself.
“I don’t want to bring you any trouble.” His voice sounded weak. Bai Qi looked at his mentor helplessly. “I heard that Director Xiao was someone with a connection.”
Qi Zheng quickly understood the reason Bai Qi has been hesitating to speak to him about how he was mistreated.
Bai Qi probably knew thought that he was a surgeon with a plain background.
If someone with no background wanted to fight with someone like Director Xiao, that person would definitely lose.
However, he was different.
Even though he chose to live a low-profile life as a doctor, Qi Zheng was not someone with a simple background. The Qi family was someone who had connections in the military as well as politics.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDirector Xiao might have the power to kick Bai Qi from the hospital. However, he could make it so that Director Xiao and his family could no longer stay in Y City. It seemed that he has been too low profile that no one seemed to remember who he was.
“You don’t have to worry about me,” Qi Zheng spoke. “Rest assured. Director Xiao will not be able to do anything to me.” His voice softened, knowing that his student was only concerned about him as well. “You can go back to work. I know what I should do.”
Bai Qi hesitated. But when he saw the look on Qi Zheng’s face, Bai Qi decided to trust him. He nodded and was about to leave the office when someone knocked on the door.
“Come in,” Qi Zheng spoke.
The door was pushed from the outside, and soon, a pretty woman in her early forty walked into the room.
Qi Zheng raised his head and was surprised to find out that the person who came to see him this time was no other than a family member. “Yu Ying?”
“Brother Qi Zheng,” Zhang Yu Ying flashed a smile. She glanced at the young doctor in the room and turned to Qi Zheng again. “Is this a bad time?”
“No.” Qi Zheng waved his hand. “Come in.” He did a double take and frowned. “Why are you here? Are you feeling unwell?”
Zhang Yu Ying chuckled. “No. There’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”
Initially, she did not want to come over as well. However, after talking to her niece yesterday, Zhang Yu Ying became curious about Zhang Li Xue’s first teammate. She heard that the boy had become Qi Zheng’s student and decided to come over to take a look.
Bai Qi saw that his mentor had a guest and decided to leave. “Doctor Qi, I will leave now.”
Qi Zheng nodded as he watched the boy shut the door. He shifted his gaze and saw that Zhang Yu Ying was staring at the door.
“Who was that?” Zhang Yu Ying asked.
“That one? That’s my student. Bai Qi.”
Zhang Yu Ying’s eyes lit up when she heard his answer.
