Chapter 957 Aren't You Busy?
Jenny and Stephanie returned to the dining table to see Leonard and Alec chatting happily.
It seemed that their cooperation was going well.
Jenny turned to look at Stephanie. She didn't get an answer to her question when she
asked Stephanie whether she still liked Paul. Stephanie said she didn't know.
Although she had rejected that man many times, she would occasionally think of him and
couldn’t let go of their past as easily as she had imagined. It didn't seem right if she said
she didn't have any feelings for him.
"Stephanie," Leonard called. He was sitting opposite her, looking at her. "What are you
thinking about?"
He noticed that Stephanie's gaze drifted off, and she didn't react when he helped her with
the food.
"Huh? Nothing,” Stephanie said, feeling a bit embarrassed. There was no way she could
admit that she had been thinking about Paul.

weren't close to each other, even though they were old classmates who hadn't seen each
other for many years. In fact, their relationship was not much different from that of
strangers. Therefore, he wasn't in a rush, as any relationship needed time to grow.
Stephanie nodded, although she did not quite understand what Leonard meant. Did she
need any help? She didn’t know.
Seeing the two of them fall into silence, Jenny felt frustrated. "Leonard, are you alone in
Bardoff City now? Are you married?"
"Yes, I'm alone in Bardoff City, and I'm not married," Leonard replied.
Jenny had guessed he wasn't married, but she still wanted to make sure. "Then you should
be rather bored after work, right?"
"I'm alright. I work overtime a lot," Leonard answered. There was a lot of work at the
police station, and he worked late into the night every day, so he wasn't that bored.
Jenny smiled and said, "We can all hang out if we're free. Stephanie and I are usually not
that busy."
Well, it was mainly Stephanie who wasn't busy.
"Alright," Leonard agreed. He could see that Jenny was trying to set him up with
Stephanie, which was fine with him. It seemed that his chances of success had increased a
little.
"Aren't you busy?” Alec asked her with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Jenny grinned and nodded. "Not really, actually. Well, I'm not as busy as you, that's for
sure."
Alec was rendered speechless. Turning to Leonard, he said," She's just talking nonsense.
Don't take her seriously. If you want to make plans, just invite Stephanie."
"Sure." Leonard didn't mind. The four of them chatted and laughed, but Stephanie
remained silent.
She mainly hadn't figured out how to face Leonard, so she couldn't bring herself to talk
and laugh with him.

sitting in the corner of the restaurant, whose gaze had never left them. To be exact, his
gaze never left Stephanie.
Alec's sharp senses detected something amiss. When he spotted the man, he was
frustrated. What was Paul doing here?
Was it a coincidence? Obviously not.
Jenny happened to glance in that direction and noticed that it was Paul. She didn't find it
surprising. She expected no less from a control freak like him.
Perhaps even to this day, Paul still regarded Stephanie as his woman. He certainly
wouldn't be happy to see Stephanie having a meal with another man.
Jenny couldn't be bothered to pay attention to him and didn't point him out to the rest.
Instead, she continued to chat with them with a smile.
Alec, on the other hand, couldn't ignore Paul like Jenny. He made an excuse to leave the
table and walked over to Paul.
"What do you want?" Alec demanded solemnly, sitting across Paul.
