Chapter 457 I Don’t Care
Jenny didn't quite have an appetite for Alec's food. She wanted to speak, but she wasn't sure how.
Then, she thought of Alfred. She asked cautiously, "Your father had been gone for so many years. Do
you think that there's a possibility of him having another child?"
Alfred was not that much younger than Alec. Jenny suspected that if he really was Mortimer's child,
that would mean that Mortimer and Max's mother was already entangled with each other before
eloping. Maybe they eloped because they found out about the child. But, of course, it was all just
speculation.
Alec's hands paused. He wasn't expecting that kind of question. "Why are you asking?’

With Alec's state of mind right now, she didn't dare to let Alec know of Alfred's existence. Otherwise,
he'd be agitated.
Alec was quiet for a while. "It doesn't matter if he does. I don't care. It has nothing to do with me."
He didn't care about Mortimer, much less his child. Right now, he only cared about Jenny. He didn't
know what was happening to him. He was just terribly afraid of losing her. He wished she could stay by
his side forever, but he knew he couldn't do that-he'd only push her away. That was why he had to be
patient and bear with it, even though it upset him.
Thankfully, the upset in his heart would dissipate when Jenny was within his sight.
"So you wouldn't care?" Jenny was surprised. She thought Alec would be angry.
"I don't care about anything except for you," he said.
Jenny paused, saying nothing.
Jenny was home, lying in bed, unable to fall asleep. Finally, she got up and scrolled through her
contacts, calling an acquaintance currently abroad. He specialized in psychology. She met him when
she was studying abroad, and once she learned he was also from Parrington Medical University, they
grew close.
He picked up quickly, and Jenny told him about Alec's condition. She couldn't help feeling worried.
"This is abnormal, isn't it?" She was asking for professional help because she couldn't be sure of it
herself.
"Yes. It could be the effects of him losing his mother, which is why he is so afraid of losing you," he

Jenny bit her lip, not knowing what to say.
"He's in a critical situation. He's basically walking on a tightrope. The moment he's tipped over, he
might do something irrational. You need to take him to a psychiatrist. It'll be harder to treat in the
future.”
Jenny's heart sank. She didn't expect Alec's condition to be so serious. She thought he was just afraid
of the dark. But now...
"Thanks for the trouble,’ she said. "I'm not too familiar with this department. Do you know any
trustworthy psychiatrists in Parrington?"
"I do. I'll send you her phone number."
The call soon ended, and Jenny got her number quickly. With Alec's position, she had to find someone
trustworthy. News of it couldn't be spread.
