208 Chapter 208 Unexpected Hunt
(Desmond’s Office, Third Person POV)
Just a couple of days after that apologetic lunch, Silvia had gotten quite used to her new job under Desmond′s watch and while she still didn’t like the idea of ??having a womanizing boss, at least she was smart enough to say nothing about it.
Which was real merit taking into account that she was involved in all kinds of uncomfortable situations because of it, just like now, Silvia had entered Desmond’s office to deliver the new orders that arrived from intelligence and the first thing she saw was the passionate kiss that Desmond and her friend Claire were sharing.
Silvia had to do her best to pretend that she didn′t see the exchange, her only saving grace was that Claire wasn′t shameless enough to keep losing herself in Desmond’s arms when there was a third person in the room so she quickly separated from Desmond breaking the thread of saliva that linked their tongues ... of course if poor Claire knew that Kyuru was the eternal third one around Desmond, who knows what her reaction would be.
Desmond on the other hand was too shameless to even consider if there was something wrong with the current scenario so he simply turned to Silvia with an irritated smile.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“It must be quite important for you to enter without knocking on the door ... isn’t it, Silvia?”
With such a response not only Silvia but anyone else would have had a hard time resisting the urge to call Desmond an idiot, of course, Silvia and anyone else would first have to consider the consequences of insulting Desmond.
The result of the simple equation insult plus Desmond equals pain was enough for Silvia to pretend to be blind again and just pass the file in her hands to Desmond.
As soon as Desmond saw the intelligence-sent file all of his laid-back, flirtatious demeanor faded into a serious expression on his face, it was almost ridiculous how quickly Desmond went from his carefree mode to total work concentration mode.
.....
Without wasting time Desmond read the new orders sent from intelligence and realized the urgency of the situation, according to the files there had been multiple sightings of mutant beasts in the perimeter area of ??the agricultural zone on the outskirts of town and it was feared that These beasts began to attack people in the field so his squad was ordered to go out and hunt down these mutant beasts.
The moment Desmond finished reading his orders, he immediately ordered Silvia to pass the message to the rest of the squad that should be in the training area asking them to meet immediately in the base’s transportation area.
Seeing Silvia take her phone to pass the orders to the rest of the squad, Desmond took the phone from his office and requested a direct line with the logistics department so that they would have weapons and vehicles ready.
It must be said that one of the advantages of being the main esper squad at the base was that his squad had the highest priority in the allocation of personnel and resources so within minutes a call reached Desmond’s office informing him that everything he had requested was ready in the transport bay.
Meanwhile Claire just calmly watched as Desmond and Silvia prepared everything necessary for an immediate exit, seeing that there was nothing to do, she just walked to the closet in the office where Desmond usually keeps some extra coats and jackets from where she got a relatively large leather case.
Such action did not go unnoticed by Silvia who had finished informing the rest of the squad, Silvia watched with curiosity as Claire removed from the case a pair of metallic gauntlets, black with silver detail, the gauntlets had a somewhat elegant but aggressive appearance.
Of course, to the aesthetic senses of this world, such gauntlets looked somewhat ostentatious, but Silvia said nothing when she saw Desmond put on those gauntlets. And frankly, her silence was well justified as Desmond was giving off an incredibly dangerous feeling right now.
Unaware of the fright that he had caused to Silvia, Desmond now looked at his hands/claws with a somehow aggressive look, it was obvious that he was excited and somewhat impatient to test his new weapons in combat; It seems that the tranquility of recent times had caused Desmond to crave the adrenaline of battle a little.
But Desmond’s period of admiration was brief, eager to fight mutant beasts and keep the locals safe in passing, Desmond hurried out of his office with Silvia and Claire following close behind.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSoon the trio reunited with the rest of the squad that was already ready to leave in the transport bay, too lazy to drive Desmond passed the keys to the vehicle to Morales who had the best results in the driving tests; the rest of the squad climbed into the rear cockpit of the armored vehicle and began to check the weaponry in the vehicle.
Truth be told, Desmond didn’t have a very high opinion of his squad, at the end of the day they were rookies, even if they were very talented as expected their training time was too short, the only people Desmond considered useful among them were Silvia Trevstone, Claire Lynwood and Esteban Morales; since they possessed the best esper skills of the group.
But at least the rest of the squad were quite aware of their current weakness and the need to be cautious, which was demonstrated by the meticulous way in which they went through the weapons and ammunition available in the vehicle; even Desmond, who didn’t usually pay much attention to them, nodded with satisfaction when he saw them.
The trip in the vehicle was fast and smooth, without much in particular to mention except the expression of discomfort on Silvia’s face who, due to the lack of space in the vehicle, spent the entire trip being pushed left and right by Desmond and Claire; The poor girl spent all the way feeling Desmond’s solid physique and Claire’s smut curves.
Silvia almost shed tears of joy when she saw their target on the horizon and couldn’t wait to get off the vehicle, to her relief it was only a couple of minutes before the squad reached their target and everyone could get off as they prepared to advance to the wooded area beyond the agricultural zone and start hunting.
As he watched them prepare, Desmond tried to keep calm but the thirst for battle inside him overflowed more and more with each passing second.
But as eager as he was to fight Desmond was not happy at all when a cry for help signaled the beginning of the hunt.
“Help”
