Ouyang Li didn't even get to enter the CEO's office as Jiang Zhe brought her to the reception room, a tiny one at

that.

This reception room was usually dedicated to interviewees.

Ouyang Li's anger surged as she realized she was being led to the reception room typically reserved for

interviewees awaiting their interviews.

However, she knew better than to cause a scene. If she were to create a disturbance in Nanshi Corporation's

headquarters, Jiang Zhe would not hesitate to call security and have her forcefully removed. That would only add to

her humiliation.

Jiang Zhe was polite enough to arrange for someone to bring Ouyang Li a cup of regular coffee.

It was the same coffee served to the company's employees, indicating that she was not being given any special

treatment.

“Jiang Zhe, can you call the shots?” Ouyang Li inquired.

Jiang Zhe quickly replied, “No.”

Ouyang Li was at a loss for words.

“I'm only Mr. Chen's assistant, so I don't get to call the shots. Mr. Chen is the only person in Nanshi Corporation who

gets to call the shots,” Jiang Zhe explained with a smile.

Obviously, he was telling her that he couldn't make decisions and had no interest in what she had to say.

“If you can't call the shots, then relay my message to Nan Chen. You can do that, right?” Ouyang Li snapped.

“I'll do my best. Mr. Chen is busy, so I don't want to disturb him with unimportant stuff,” Jiang Zhe replied calmly.

“Help me ask Nan Chen why he took action against my branches, forcing them to stop operating. If he won't stop at

once, don't blame me for taking action!” she warned.

Jiang Zhe shook his head. “Ms. Li, I don't understand what you're talking about.”

“What do you mean?”

“If your stores have been closed, I suggest you contact the relevant department to address the issue. Why are you

here, demanding to speak with Mr. Chen? While Mr. Chen may be capable, he is responsible for managing Nanshi

Corporation, not overseeing your company's affairs. Are you implying that you need Mr. Chen's guidance on how to

run a business, Ms. Li? Very well, when I have the opportunity to speak with Mr. Chen, I will inform him of your

request—”

“Jiang Zhe! Stop changing the topic! You're fully aware that's not what I meant. It was Nan Chen who caused our

stores to cease operations, wasn't it? Tell him he better put an end to this, or he'll soon regret the consequences!”

Ouyang Li hollered.

Jiang Zhe remained unfazed even though Ouyang Li was blind with rage.

He immediately understood her intentions as soon as she arrived, knowing how he should handle the situation

appropriately.

Jiang Zhe might just be an assistant, but he was among the top five executives in the business realm of Flower City.

He could easily take care of Ouyang Li.

Jiang Zhe was laughing inwardly at the woman's distress.

“Ms. Li, calm down. We can talk this out. You mentioned asking Mr. Chen to stop or face consequences. It's fine to

say such things to me, a mere assistant, but if you were to say them directly to Mr. Chen, it would be futile. Mr.

Chen never succumbs to threats, as there are too many people who have tried to intimidate him before. If you wish

to confront Mr. Chen, you'll have to take a number and wait in line. I estimate that it might take until next year for

His words might sound harmless, but he managed to infuriate Ouyang Li to no end.

It dawned on her that the strength of Nanshi Corporation did not solely rely on its assets. Their extensive network,

talented individuals, and efficient management system were truly remarkable.

Despite causing a commotion in Nanshi Corporation for quite some time, Ouyang Li noticed that the employees

paid her no mind.

They remained focused on their tasks as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

In any other company, employees from different departments would have gathered to observe the situation.

However, in Nanshi Corporation, the employees carried on with their work diligently, showing great efficiency.

Unless it directly affected their responsibilities, they wouldn't pause to inquire about the disturbance.

“Ms. Li, the coffee has cooled down. Should I get you a new cup?” Jiang Zhe asked cheerfully.

Ouyang Li rose to her feet and gripped the table, her expression dark.

“Jiang Zhe, remember to relay my message. You're too junior to talk to me!” Ouyang Li declared vehemently, trying

to save face.

Instead of firing a retort, Jiang Zhe flashed a smile. “Indeed, I'm too junior and have wasted your time.”

It felt like punching on cotton.

Jiang Zhe couldn't be bothered to respond to her lowly trick.

Ouyang Li and her assistant stepped into the elevator, and she leaned wearily against the wall, feeling the weight of

exhaustion.

Unexpectedly, her assistant broke the silence, speaking at an inopportune moment. “Ms. Li, Nan Chen is too

arrogant. He's obviously here but refuses to see you.”

“Shut up!” Ouyang Li snarled.

Her assistant initially wanted to flatter her but ended up saying the wrong thing.

“Who the f*ck does Nan Chen think he is? When Nanshi Corporation is crushed, I'll make him get on his knees to

plead for my forgiveness!” Ouyang Li uttered menacingly.

There was actually another woman in the elevator besides Ouyang Li and her assistant.

However, the woman was wearing a hat and a mask that concealed her face.

There was a light orange blossom scent emanating from her, though.

Ning Ran contemplated whether she should respond to Ouyang Li's curses directed at Nan Chen.

Yet, she swiftly decided against it as they were at Nanshi Corporation's headquarters, and she didn't want to cause

a scene.

Ouyang Li's assistant swiftly chimed in, “Absolutely! Once Sunshine Corporation and Prosperity Holdings join forces,

we will overpower Nanshi Corporation and drive them out of Flower City!”

That merely served to increase Ning Ran's displeasure. Are they daydreaming? Nanshi Corporation has been in

Flower City for years. Do they think they can drive it out easily?

“Don't forget about Ning Ran. I must destroy the b*tch's reputation, making her life as miserable as a beggar's!”

Ouyang Li cursed.

Ning Ran was speechless.

What does their rivalry have to do with me? Did I offend her? Why does she want my life to be as miserable as a

beggar's?

“Yes! That woman acted in a movie, right? She's obviously a vixen,” the assistant agreed.

Ning Ran couldn't take it anymore and thundered, “This is Nanshi Corporation. How could you insult them within

their own elevator? Isn't that utterly shameless?”

Ouyang Li turned around and noticed the woman, whose face was concealed.

Failing to recognize Ning Ran at first glance, Ouyang Li assumed she was an employee of Nanshi Corporation and

berated her, “Shut up!”

“You're the one who should shut up! Do you think you're Nan Chen's match? Dream on!” Ning Ran retorted.

Once again, Ouyang Li nearly coughed out blood in fury.
