MMORPG : Rebirth Of The Strongest Vampire God-Novel
Chapter 675 The Vampires
Max had never seen the sheer scale of the full vampire army gathered as one before this day.
He had known that they were a whopping 120 million strong and that such a large number of individuals were akin to a sea of men lasting for dozens of kilometres, however, when he finally saw that sea of men for himself he was awestruck and speechless.
Atop Mira, as he hovered above the one million strong Bloodfall army, Max felt proud of his own people, however as he turned his head a few degrees to the left and a few degrees to the right, he saw a never ending sea of clans and clansmen, a sight that gave him goosebumps.
When the vampire armies marched, the entire earth rumbled with their synchronous thumping.
Archers, infantry, cavalry, mages all of them only looked like just another soldier as the only differentiating factor amongst all sea of men was the clan banners that the flagmen bore while marching.
All vampire clans under Regus Aurelius marched with a flag of their own, yet there was a unity in this diversity as all of them marched for a common cause under a common king.
Unlike Max's belief that the vampires would not have many aerial warriors, the reality was quite different.
At Least 1.5 million strong flew in the skies on various mounts, creating a sizeable regiment of flying troops capable of blotting the fake sun and moon in this dimensional sky.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtYet despite the large number of vampire aerial troops, they were completely overshadowed by the dragon's in the sky.
Black, Gold and Green Dragons whose bodies extended 40 feet minimum and grew up to 100 feet long with a symmetrical wingspan covered the sky as absolute predators.
In terms of numbers, the dragon's were not even 1/1000th the number of vampires, having a regiment barely 10,000 strong in number.
However, 2,000 of those 10,000 were tier6 dragons and above with the clan leaders of Green and Black dragons both being tier8.
In terms of quality, the dragon's surpassed the vampires by leaps and bounds and in total their 10,000 were enough to neutralise the 120 million vampires if it came to all- out war.
Such was the rule of the universe.
If a species could live at the top of the food chain unchallenged, they usually would have a low sexual drive and would only mate once or twice in their entire lifetime resulting in low population numbers.
If a species was at the bottom of the food chain they would breed like rabbits, giving birth to multiple offspring with each pregnancy, just to ensure that one of them survived to adulthood.
The weakest dragon's were bound to be at least tier4 upon reaching adulthood, while becoming tier6 was considered common.
It was only tier7 and above that a dragon was considered truly powerful, however, still only one dragon was able to reach the pinnacle of power at tier8 once in five centuries.
The angels and the dragon's were the two apex species of the universe. They had no natural weaknesses and countless natural strengths.
To neutralise their dominance, the celestials had given them a low sex drive and even lower fertility rate so that their numbers always remained manageable and the balance was not broken.
In comparison, the vampires had no such restrictions and hence had booming populations.
Even back on Earth, the law was the same.
There were hundreds of thousands of herbivores in the wild, however, only a few lions were born every year.
As Max felt the suffocating pressure of the dragon's flying in an arrowhead formation with Rhea acting as vanguard, he contemplated whether or not he should push the aura back with his own or not, but decided against it.
The pressure, although uncomfortable physically, was giving a lot of morale boost to the troops down below.
The normal troops felt reassured that with so many dragon's by their side they would simply tear the enemy apart, and looking at their reactions Max felt that it was best not to push the dragon aura back.
But the same thought that he felt was also felt by one Regus Aurelius who did not hold back at all and pushed the dragon aura back without restraint, lifting the suffocating pressure from the vampires single handedly.
The sudden disappearance of the heavy pressure prompted everyone to look towards the direction of Regus Aurelius who was sitting with a frown on his majestic land mount.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm" Is that ….? " Max gulped as he stared at Regus's mount in absolute disbelief.
Regus was riding a 50 feet tall, 150 feet long, absolutely ripped and muscular looking wolf that had a silver mane around his neck.
Max did not know if this was his mount by design to humiliate the werewolves, or whether he chose this mount for its battle effectiveness, as the colossal beast that he rode gave Max the vibes of Fenrir, the urban earth legend.
The beast was tier7 and described as the ' Colossal Silvermane wolf ' -
Despite its size and nasty teeth that looked like they could slice through houses if it wanted, somehow Regus Aurelius looked like the worse beast of the two as he sat on its back with a frown.
To say that the vampire king looked majestic was an understatement.
In his full armour with his helmet on as he rode the giant wolf, Regus Aurelius looked like a god of war bent on killing whoever tried to stop his path.
Max had never felt comfort in the presence of a superior.
He had fought alone all his life in battles where he was always the strongest on his side. However, today, he could understand how the morale of the underlings could be linked to their superiors as watching Regus he felt a sense of calm and security as well as a rush of adrenaline to charge into battle.
It was a complex feeling, but just his presence gave him comfort that the vampires could win this fight.
" Maybe that's what it means to be king…." Max murmured to himself as he looked away and stared into the distance where the enemy awaited the vampire army.
