"So... why did you want to find me?" Noah asked, a little uncertain.
Hearing Noah's question, the man showed a surprised expression before understanding reached him. "Yes! I'm glad you reminded me, I was already forgetting. As I said earlier, Apollo and Lucifer have had a stable friendship for a long time, thousands and thousands of years. And being the god of prophecy, their friendship ended up generating a prophecy for my lord."
Hearing this, Noah tried to understand where this conversation was going.
"In one of Apollo's prophecies, Lucifer would need his help a lot someday, when there was something called 'The Great Battle', which unfortunately I don't have much detail about. Apollo felt that this would be the moment that Lucifer would need help. But even after the end of the great battle, the prophecy was still active, which meant that the moment had not yet come, until recently one of our oracles had a prophecy that said the time for something ancient was approaching. And the only thing that could relate to that would be the prophecy about Lucifer," the priest said with a serious expression for the first time since he started talking to Noah.
In a world where gods really existed and blessed humans, it was no longer surprising to hear of such abilities as to make prophecies, or see the future, so Noah didn't doubt what the man was saying, because the way they met, how much the man knew about Lucifer, and the way they located him, it couldn't be just a coincidence. And to confirm what Noah was thinking, the man explained what they did.
"The oracles who made the prophecy said that a trace of Lucifer would be in Eyrin. So I was dispatched directly by the high priest, along with my personal disciple to this city to find you and give you a message transmitted directly by the God Apollo," the man said, still keeping his expression serious. "[As much as the world may seem to be heading for what you want, everything can go astray at any moment with the emergence of an enemy more powerful than you alone can handle. Gather as much strength in time as you have available, because the moment for you to be summoned is approaching.]"
Noah looked at the man with his face, leaving behind the emotionless expression he conveyed before, now adopting a thoughtful attitude. But inside he was thinking glumly. 'Damn, saying something like that and saying nothing is not much different. I am already doing my best to gather as much strength as possible with the best growth rate I can imagine. And already Lucifer's System has told me a long time ago that in the future I will fight for something bigger, that what I have now is probably just a small drop in the big ocean... At least he confirmed for me that something bigger is truly happening.'
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtOf course, Noah just kept those thoughts to himself and thanked the Blessed Rank B in front of him out loud, "Thank you very much for the council. This aligns perfectly with the plans I'm already having. I will probably just have to speed up a few more things." He tried to use the most apparent words that he had heard from the advice, but he knew it was difficult to keep evolving so fast unless he invaded Fortresses every day. But if he did that, the other projects he was developing in parallel could be delayed, and that in the long run would not be so advantageous. This would be in addition to attracting some unnecessary attention to himself, especially now that he needed a little more time for the imps to develop.
The man was apparently pleased with Noah's response and the attitude he had, and gave Noah a final smile before exiting the restaurant. Leon gave a little nod before following the man out, leaving only Noah alone, which strangely made the other people around him immediately notice him sitting there.
This raised some doubts for Noah, who to indulge himself, called that friendly waitress who had treated him with the same respect and politeness that she had previously because he was Rank D. "Excuse me, did you happen to notice the two gentlemen who accompanied me?" Noah asked.
But strangely, when she heard Noah's question, the waitress looked around trying to find someone, but the confusion on her face was enough evidence for Noah that he was the only one to notice the priest and Leon here a few moments ago. This was even more frightening for him, and a little comforting, since if he wasn't prepared to deal with it, someone with a higher ranking might even be able to enter his house and he wouldn't notice, but fortunately the system said it was illusion proof, that is, Noah would not be a victim like these people around him. He just wondered how the priest had managed to do this.
'That skill for assassins must be a godsend, literally,' he thought as he wondered what a well-prepared assassin could do with a skill as powerful as that in his arsenal.
Since the two were not seen and did not even place an order at the cafeteria, Noah paid for his Ace Cappuccino and drove around town while sipping his drink with his new sunglasses on his face.
As the meeting they had had was very short, Noah texted Jasper, asking if they still had a vacancy on the team, but Jasper regretfully said that they had found someone else to fill his place for today's invasion, and that they were already on the bus en route to Rank E Fortress.
In addition to Noah, who rose to Rank D after invading a Rank E Fortress alone, the others were still Blessed Rank E, and without Noah, their confidence in invading a Rank D Fortress was much less, making them decide to go back to a Rank E invasion to get ready again.
This, in fact, caused Noah for the first time in a long time to consider the possibility of breaking into a Fortress with a random group. He knew that in terms of productivity in order to make money, it was better to break into a Rank E Fortress alone, but he didn't want to stagnate in Rank E Fortresses. His goal was to invade Rank D Fortresses alone in the future, or rather, with the help of the imps. But for the time being he didn't have the confidence to do that, since he didn't know the limits of each of the little guys well.
He knew that the Fortress he had previously invaded was a separate case. It was not possible for a Rank D Fortress to be as powerful as that, not to mention all the mysteries he encountered because of the dwarves. This was enough proof for Noah to think that maybe a normal Rank D Fortress was weaker than that.
Having made up his mind, Noah opened the GBC app on his cell phone and activated the option to search for a random group.
Rank D Blessed were part of the top of the city Eyrin, so because of the low number of Blessed and the extra amount of Fortresses of the same level that appeared, the search for groups was very fast.
Noah was quickly assigned to an unknown group, and a location was sent to his GPS.
All Noah would need was with him at the moment, so without even going home, Noah stopped at an invasion clothing store and looked for a suit with gray camouflage, because of the type of Fortress to which he was assigned. Maybe it could be chalked up to fate, but Noah was very happy to be assigned to a Fortress like this, since he would have more freedom so that he could have the opportunity to get more exp than usual with the group.
Unfortunately he did not have a blessed armor, a type of armor that the Blessed Ones obtained from Fortress monsters. This was something that Noah wanted to save money for to buy in the future. Since he always fought in close combat, having an extra layer of protection was essential, especially when the monsters' skin became more resistant and their strength increased a lot whenever Rank went up, unlike humans. Their resistance and strength gradually increased, making them even more dependent on the Blessings they had.
This was the case with Noah, who was becoming very dependent on [Hell Tunneling] in all battles. This ability had already reached the same priority level in a battle as [Hell Flames], and that included all variations of [Hell Flames], even [Healing Flames].
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe Fortress itself was not too far from where he was, and for the first long drive, Noah paid close attention to the cars around him, realizing that some cars on the road had prices that even approached his car.
Some BMW's, Mercedes-Benz, Audis, Porsches, and several other luxury cars were parked around. There was even a pink Land Rover that got a little bit of Noah's attention, mostly because it was funny to see a car of such an unusual color.
Not to mention that he also realized the great strength of the military patrolling around the Fortress. As it had arisen in a park within a residential area, the government had to evacuate the people who lived nearby so that in the event of a problem, say for some reason a monster escaped from the Fortress, no one outside would be hurt by the monster, who would have strength at least at the level of Rank D.
Fortunately, this type of thing did not happen very often, with only three cases in the entire city of millions of people throughout the year, but it was precisely because of the defense of the military and the Blessed reinforcements who were left out that the number of deaths had been drastically reduced.
A single Rank D monster would be able to kill several Blessed Rank E without much difficulty before dying, and if it were left to run wild between the Blessed Rank F and civilians, the slaughter would be catastrophically great until a group of Blessed Rank D could reach the local. At that moment, they could only mourn for the lives lost and dedicate themselves so that something like this would not happen again. For this reason, the government chose to prevent rather than cure after an unlikely disaster happened.
In the same way that Noah paid attention to the cars that were parked near the Fortress, other people also watched his car.
