Chapter 233
“Damn it,” cursed Wilbur. He wondered if something bad happened.
“Come in.”
Ryder walked into the room.
Wilbur frowned and looked at Ryder. After a long pause, he asked, “There’s nothing to attend to, right?”
“As required by the protocol, please come to the office and set up the password,” replied Ryder.
Wilbur instantly let out a sigh of relief and said, “I thought something bad happened. You gave me a
fright.”
He instantly told Faye and the others to wait, then went to the operation room with Ryder alone.
The staff had installed the equipment and left. They were the only two people there.
Ryder explained the functions of the equipment, then he asked him to set up various passwords.
There was a password for the satellite connection, a password to activate the supercomputer, a
secondary password for personal operation, and also a password for self–destruct.
Wilbur set up around seven passwords, and they were strong passwords too.
I’m afraid 1
can’t remember any of it if I don’t have an impeccable memory, Wilbur thought.
Ryder indicated that the task was completed. Wilbur asked, “Do you know how to cook?”

“You don’t need to ask me that. I’ll handle my own meals,” replied Ryder coldly.
Wilbur shrugged. “This guy sure is unsociable.
“Alright. Go ahead and get to work. Don’t bother me if there’s nothing urgent and try not to bother me
even if there is.” With that, Wilbur turned around and left.
Ryder frowned and watched him leave, thinking about what Wilbur had just told him.
Wilbur went back to his room and chatted with Faye and the rest. They all agreed that Ryder was a
weird guy.
Faron and the others did not want to get involved with the overly mysterious department, so they
changed the subject
“Bro, the advertising department is going to the broadcast station tomorrow. Aren’t you going?” asked
Faron.
Wilbur was puzzled. “Why should I go?”
“The advertising department wants to reestablish Chlor’s position and also commend her. She went
through a lot because of Cape, so aren’t you going to show her some support?” asked Faron.
Wilbur thought about it. He looked at Faye and said, “Indeed. You should go. It’s also an opportunity for
Cape Consortium to
be seen.”
“Alright, I’ll go,” she replied with a smile.
The next afternoon.
The advertising department and the representatives from Cape drove to Seechertown Broadcast
Station in a convoy of
vehicles.
All of the broadcast station staff had gathered in the courtyard a long time ago. They were respectfully
waiting for them.
They welcomed the representatives from Cape with a round of applause. The head of the advertising
department, the CEO of Cape Consortiuun, Faye Yves, and the oilers put out of their vehicles one after
another.
The head of the advertising department commended Chloe in the courtyard and announced her as the
vice station director.

The announcement shocked everyone.
Chloe Blott was only an intern. Everyone thought she should not be promoted to the vice station
director position even if she contributed to the department..

Meanwhile, Chloe was more shocked than anyone. She did not expect this at all, so she was
blabbering slightly due to the mild bewilderment.
The next announcement was about the vacancy for the station director position. Mariah Shandon was
appointed as the acting station director.
Everyone was shocked once again. Mariah had the qualifications, but her promotion came too fast.
After all, she was not the vice station director.
On top of that, everyone also knew that as the acting station director, she would eventually become the
official station director if she did not make any major mistakes.
Everyone applauded even though they were shocked and surprised. Those two people would become
their supervisors, after all.
Immediately after the announcement, the head of the department sternly criticized the Telford Gills
incident. He warned about severe punishments if another incident like that were to happen again.
Finally, the CEO of Cape, Faye Yves, gave a speech to thank Chloe. Cape also provided a donation of
equipment worth millions of dollars to the station
People started to speculate whether Chlor and Mariah had any relations with Cape Consortium. The
ceremony took the entire morning to conclude, and the leaders left without having lunch.
