Chapter 814 Insurrection (1)

What happened after that went by in a flash.

After Kyran's stomp destroyed a considerable part of the battlefield, which sent the Armakea forces to fall through the crevices, they failed to regroup in a short time. The Eidums took this chance to retreat to the safety of their border.

But the Eidums did not relax. With Nahir and Gidan in the lead, they observed the Armakeans and kept their guard up. However, they did not attempt to launch a counter for fear of hitting the silver humanoid dragon and the other beasts that chose to side with him. They did not want to be subjected to his ire, especially after witnessing what happened to the Armakea forces.

On the other hand, some Eidums were left in wonder as they noticed the Abbot's absence. It was one thing not to see the Saint, but the Abbot was there just now. Where did he run off to?

But none of them were really that worried. Knowing that the Abbot managed to escape his abductors and could assist them in battle was enough.

Unbeknownst to them, the Abbot had teleported to the receiving room when he received a telepathic message from Kyran.

The Abbot proceeded to Cyneah's personal chamber in the Infirmary from the receiving room.

When Kyran took Cyneah, he warped to her personal chamber and contacted the old man so he could check on her. It was a little annoying, but although his knowledge of Alchemy was one of the best, he was not really an effective healer. He could concoct powerful potions and pills, but he was hopeless in emergencies where one required healing through magic energy.

That was his Void magic's limitation. Or at least, he believed it was a limitation. He knew Void magic's nature was not all about destruction and could be used to create things from nothingness. But so far, he had yet to understand the latter part fully. And as far as he was concerned, in terms of blood creation, not even his Void magic could do it.

Then again, Cyneah did not require blood creation but replenishing.

Anette once made blood-replenishing pills for Kyran, and he already knew how to make his own. Unfortunately, he did not have the medicinal herbs and other non-herb ingredients to produce it.

Another point to consider was that the medicinal herbs and non-herb ingredients in Somuli were more or less different in the Human plane. Looking for alternatives would take Kyran sometime before he could successfully make one.

Blood-replenishing pills were considered highly advanced prescriptions and were not a common healing to energy-replenishing type.

Because of this, Kyran could only ask the Abbot to check on Cyneah.

"I don't understand. How did she end up in this state?" the old man asked as soon as he completed his initial check. He looked at Kyran sternly, thinking the younger man had let Cyneah do something dangerous.

Kyran did not respond and remained silent.

Nevertheless, the slight crease on the younger man's forehead was enough for the old man to understand that he was also unaware of what Cyneah had done.

"I'll support her natural healing," the old man said with a sigh. "That is the only thing I can do for now. Blood replenishing is a messy business, to be honest. And even with my current ability, I am not confident in assisting with it."

"That's fine. I can make a blood-replenishing pill for her. But I will not some time."

Kyran then turned and prepared to leave.

"Wait," the old man stopped him before he could warp.

Kyran looked at the old man and cocked one brow questioningly.

"You are that humanoid dragon, right?"

"This is not the right time to talk about that, old man," Kyran replied with a frown.

"I know you are in a hurry, but even if you leave now to gather the necessary items needed to concoct a blood-replenishing pill, you won't be able to find everything here."

"Your point?"

"Armakea is home to exotic and even rarer medicinal herbs in Somuli. Since they do not have healers, their Apothecary can be considered top-notch."

Kyran read about that but did not think much of it because he believed the Eidums' Apothecary was still better. But if exotic and rare medicinal herbs were available to them, then their Apothecary might have branched out to something more.

Eidums were more focused on white medicine, so to speak, while blood-replenishing leaned more toward black medicine.

The concoction of black medicine is pretty uncommon because it mainly requires rare ingredients, and their effects are subject to debate.

"Just say what you want to say, old man."

"Your proposed conquest," the old man did not try to beat around the bush anymore and went straight to the point. "I believe now is the time to do that."

Kyran stared at him.

The old man had a point. He had three powerful magical beasts at his disposal, and the Armakea forces were in disarray. If they wanted to take down the Armekea border, now was a good time.

However, that move was only good if the Armakea had exhausted all their forces.

Kyran knew better. There were still knights behind them. Although the Armakea forces were in disarray, several knights remained among their ranks. Apart from this, there were still those knights who went with Captain Hohen to meet with Achim. Not to mention, there was still a possibility that the knights under Achim's leadership might be able to renege their allegiance and side with Captain Hohen if they discovered Achim had a new master.

It should be noted that Kyran only had Achim and five other knights under his control.

Achim's side did not arrive at the location according to the planned sneak attack. That meant something had happened either on their way to Captain Hohen's forces or after meeting them.

Kyran also considered an insurrection after Kesiah revealed herself to be the real leader of the Armakea border.

What if she started to make her move? What if she planned to eliminate Achim and take over his knights to boost her military strength and remove competition in becoming the King's heir?

There were a lot of internal things happening in the Armakea that Kyran had to consider.

Kyran more or less guessed that the old man's confidence in proceeding with the conquest plan stemmed from his belief that his strength was enough to overwhelm any opposition.

The old man was not wrong on that. But the problem was that the power Kyran showed earlier was something he had yet to master.

Kyran could utilize 30% of Draconic magic just fine. He could also control that power to a certain extent. But that additional 1% was different.

Just recalling how a single flick could kill a high-ranking officer scared even Kyran.

Using 31% of Draconic magic might be enough to reduce a city to ruins in a single assault. But then what?

When Kyran flicked his finger earlier, he barely contained the strength of that 1%. That was why he accidentally killed the Armakea officer rather than sending it flying backward. He did not experience backlash after unleashing that power, but what if he did not try to contain it?

Kyran guessed his finger would have broken as well. His forearms might also end up breaking from the aftershock.

Basically, what he was worried about was that his body could not keep up with that additional 1% in strength.

Frankly, one reason Kyran could not master his Draconic magic was because he felt his body could not keep up with prolonged usage. It was contradicting, yes. Significantly because Draconic magic usually enhanced his body.

But that was the thing. The enhancements on his body still depended on the capacity that his physical body could produce. His physical body had undergone some change because of the Elixir. But ultimately, the amount he took was only a little.

Kyran had not tried drinking it again. He knew drinking more of the Elixir would improve his physical body.

However, the question was: Could he withstand it?

Maybe.

But how long would it take for him to assimilate the Elixir?

It should be noted that it took him more than a day for a small sip before he managed to assimilate the Elixir's effect. Apart from that, the excruciating pain that accompanied that assimilation was an experience Kyran wanted to avoid if he had a choice.

There were too many things running on his head at that moment that he could hardly think straight. The least he wanted was to make an unsound decision.

Kyran knew the main reason he could not properly sort out his thoughts was Cyneah. His concern over her condition made him unable to process the whole situation.

'This can't go on,' Kyran thought, recalling how True Void had said— more than once— that a woman had become his weakness. Kyran stubbornly replied that he was wrong. And if he wanted to keep it that way, he had to get a better grip on himself.

Kyran took a deep breath, and just as he was about to decide his following action, a voice sounded in his head.
