Chapter 130 Her Feelings
For Denver
Denver could hardly believe his ears.
Hadley was not fit to stand by his side?
With a smirk, he retorted, “That's just ridiculous...”
“What did you say?” Roderick couldn’t hold back any longer. “Denver, is that the way you speak to your
mother?”
“Dad.”
Confusion marred Denver's handsfeatures.
“Did you hear what Mom just said? Can you believe that? We're in the 21st century!”
“You...”
Wilma found herself at a loss for words.
She shared a look with her husband.
“Denver.” Wilma moderated her voice, noticing her son’s irritation. “You were educated abroad and might see
things differently, but remember, this is Srixby!”
“Mom.” Denver's stance remained firm. “My education has nothing to do with this.”
Denver was not caught off guard.
He had been bracing for his parents’ resistance.
Speaking with intentional clarity, he made his point.
“What does it matter if Hadley has been divorced?”
Wilma and Roderick were left speechless by his words.
At the social event they just returned from, they had caught wind of gossip that their son was involved with
Eric’s former wife.
Now hearing their son, they were taken aback to discover the rumors were true.
They were even more taken aback by Denver's vehement defense of Hadley.
Temporarily at a loss for words, they could not respond.
Denver, seeing his parents lost for words, chose not to press further. They needed tto digest everything. He
gently lifted the jewelry box from the table.

“Mom, Dad, it’s late.” He rose from his chair. “I'm going to my room now. You both should head to bed early too.
Goodnight.”
With a sigh of distress, Wilma watched her son exit the room before closing her eyes and massaging her
temples.
“Honey, are you alright?” her husband inquired.
Wilma, rubbing her forehead, replied, “A headache! What do we do about this situation? | cannot consent to
them being together! Absolutely not!”
Monday arrived,
Before six in the evening, Eric was already stationed outside the dance troupe’s building, waiting for Hadley to
wrap up.
Following the debut performance, Hadley’s reputation in the dance community had surged, a fact even Nyla
was aware of.
Nyla couldn't contain her excitement. “Hadley’s really been making a nfor herself quietly!”
Hadley hadn't joined the Flynns for dinner lately, prompting Nyla to ask Eric to ensure her return.
They had initially planned for the weekend, but her schedule had been too packed, pushing their arrangement to
Monday night.
Eric had been waiting for about ten minutes when he saw Hadley emerge with her bag in hand.
He quickly got out of the car to open the door for her. However, before Hadley could reach his car, another figure
approached her.
It was Wilma,
She halted in front of Hadley and removed her sunglasses. “Hello, are you... Hadley?”
“Yes,” Hadley responded with a puzzled nod. “May | ask who you are?”
Wilma looked around briefly. “This isn’t the best place to discuss matters. Would you joinsomewhere more
private for a conversation?”
“Um...” Hadley was hesitant.
She was even unsure of this woman's identity.
Seeing Hadley’s hesitation, Wilma’s smile waned, and she replied softly, “I am Denver's mother.”
At that revelation, Hadley stiffened, aware of the significance of this encounter.
She realized why Wilma might want to meet.
“Mrs. Moran, hello.”
“Let’s skip the formalities,” Wilma said, lifting an eyebrow. “Shall we talk now?”
“L..."” Hadley paused, looking towards Eric as he approached.

Following her line of sight, Wilma noticed Eric and her smile quickly disappeared.
Her willingness to have a calm discussion evaporated.
“Hadley, are you still in touch with your ex-husband? | can’t grasp how you manage to be so shameless.”
Wilma evaluated Hadley critically from head to toe.
“What, aside from your appearance, qualifies you to be with Denver? How dare you chase after him?”
At that moment, Eric arrived just in tto catch Wilma’s harsh words.
His face grew stern immediately.
Known for his short temper, Eric didn’t hesitate to confront Wilma, stepping in to protect Hadley.
“Mrs. Moran, you need to watch what you're saying! How can you accuse Hadley of chasing your son? It’s
Denver who has been relentlessly pursuing her, not the other way around. Hadley doesn’t have to chase after
anyone!”
Wilma was momentarily taken aback by how protective Eric had been, her anger surging.
She glanced from Hadley to Eric, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, how wonderful for you both!”
“Mrs. Moran!” Hadley intervened as tensions rose. “Please, let's keep things calm. He didn’t mean—"
“Enough already!” Wilma interjected, gesturing dismissively. “Let's end this discussion here. My purpose was
clear-1 don’t see you and Denver as suitable for each other. Please, keep your distance from him!”
“Mind your words now!”
Eric's fists tightened in anger.
But by then, Wilma had already slipped on her sunglasses and was turning to leave.
Left seething, Eric shot a frustrated look at Hadley. “Where’s Denver in all this? Is he going to let his mother treat
you this way?”
Hadley looked down, choosing not to respond.
“Call him!” Eric demanded, gesturing sharply. “Call him now! We can’t let this slide!”
Yet, Hadley remained quiet and motionless.
“Hadley, are you not listening?”
Suddenly, Hadley raised her head, her eyes locking with Eric’s intense stare.

Eric was momentarily taken aback. Her complexion was ghostly pale-was she genuinely distressed?
Likely so.
She had deep feelings for Denver, yet his mother held such contempt for her.
“You...” Eric said, emotion tightening his voice. “Are you alright? How are you feeling?”
He couldn’t quite understand why, but although Hadley was the one directly affected, he felt a profound

discomfort himself
“I'm fine.”

Hadley composed herself and shook her head dismissively. “We should head back. Nyla expects us for dinner,
and we shouldn't be late.”
with that, she moved briskly ahead.
Once they were in the car, Eric found himself unable to meet her gaze directly, instead catching fleeting
glimpses of her in the rearview mirror.
Hadley was usually quiet, but today there was a silence around her that felt almost tangible.
Was she deeply hurt?
Did her feelings for Denver run that deep?
Eric's heart tightened as he grasped the steering wheel harder.
As they approached Flynn Mansion, he pulled up in front of the grand entrance.
Hadley exited the car and walked forward without looking back.
Watching her retreating figure, Eric hesitated briefly before finally pulling out his phone to call Denver.
Nyla presided over the dinner table, flanked by Ernest and Eric on one side, and Hadley on the other.
Linda was still at work and hadn't made it hyet.
Nyla kept adding food to Hadley’s plate. “Eat up. You look like you've lost weight again.”
“Nyla,” Hadley responded with a gentle smile. “I need to maintain a certain weight for my dance roles. Gaining
too much could slowdown.”
“Of course, of course!” Nyla exclaimed, her face lighting up. “A great dancer needs to watch their figure at all
times!”
At that moment, the doorbell chimed insistently.
“I've got it!” The maid scurried off to the door. Then her tone turned confused. “Mr. Moran?”
“Hadley!”
