Charlotte continued, “As for the second recording, yes, | did say that to Sebastian. When I heard you were with
Sarah, | thought that was fine too. If you two were together, it would make our divorce easier. After | said that, |
just left.”
She glanced at Arthur's cold, unrelenting face, her voice growing more desperate. “I didn’t drug you, and | didn't
send Sarah to be with you. Arthur, | wouldn't do something like that.”
“You just admitted it.” Arthur's gaze grew even colder as he locked eyes with her, his stare like ice, freezing her
in place. She couldn't help but shiver.
Arthur thought, “She has really thought that-about handingover to another woman.”
He stepped closer, watching her face drain of color, and despite all the torment he'd put her through these last
three days, marking her in countless ways, she still wasn't his.

He thought, “Her heart has never belonged to me. Every second, she wants to divorce me. She wants to escape,
desperately.”
“Charlotte, the more you want something, the less Ill let you have it. Divorce? Maybe in your next life.” Arthur's
grip tightened around her throat, just enough to feel suffocating, as if

he might strangle her. But he quickly released her and turned, striding out of the room.
Charlotte's frail body wavered, her face pale, her eyes unfocused. But she soon pulled herself together, her
expression hardening, a resolve settling in.
She thought, “I haven't done it. Why should | suffer for something | didn’t do?” Her fingers clenched around the
bedsheet, her heart feeling like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand, the suffocating pain stealing her
breath.

As Arthur exited the club, someone rushed up to him. “You bastard! Where's Lottie? What did you do to her?
Where is she?” Evie blocked his path, her voice full of fury.
She hadn’t heard from Charlotte in three days. She'd used every connection to track her and learned Charlotte
hadn't left the club at all. Arthur hadn't left either. They were together-he was the one keeping Charlotte
trapped.
Evie had been waiting outside the club, and now, she had finally confronted him.
“Get lost.” Arthur's face was as cold as stone, his presence sending a chill through the air. As he spoke, the
weight of his words seemed to freeze everything around them.
Evie felt her body tense as if his very presence was suffocating her. She instinctively took a step back.

But she had to find out where Charlotte was. “Arthur, what have you done to her? What do you want from her?

Arthur raised his eyes and coldly stared at her. “If you don’t leave on your own, I'll have someone show you the
door.” As soon as he spoke, two expressionless bodyguards in black suits appeared in front of Evie.
Evie gritted her teeth. “Bastard! If anything happens to Lottie, | swear I'll make you pay.”
Arthur didn’t even acknowledge her and just got into the car. His phone powered up, and the call cthrough
immediately. Seeing the caller, he frowned and answered, “Grandma.”
Roxanne’s voice was heavy. “Arthur, what's going on? Where's Charlotte? It's been days and she hasn't come
back. | called her, but she didn’t pick up.”
Arthur's tone was low. “We're at Rose Villa.”
Roxanne replied, “Alright, I'll cover now. You'd better be ready because if | find out you've hurt Charlotte, |
won't forgive you.”
“Grandma,” Arthur's voice turned even colder, “you can’t cfor now.”
Roxanne’s voice sharpened. “You little brat, you really hurt Charlotte, didn’t you?”
