already garnered a wave of discussions and likes.

Maia could only frown in disapproval as she read his comment.

She recalled that this was something she had said to him a long time ago. ‘If a couple has walked

through a snowstorm together, it means they’ll grow old together.‘

She did not expect him to remember this.

Cedric’s particular comment was being analyzed by netizens, who eagerly threw out random

speculations as they saw fit.

“Sunrise symbolizes the start of a day and snow is the end of the four seasons. Everyone, try to read

between the lines!”

“Here’s my two cents. Mr. Cedric is trying to say that they’ve seen the sunrise and experienced the first

snow of the season together. They shared first times together and were each other’s firsts! How

romantic!”

“Just from his words alone, I can tell he loves Ms. Maia very much. But why did they get a divorce? It’s

such a shame! I wonder if they’ll ever get back together?”

Impossible! Maia would not allow that to happen. She refused to once again go through what she had

experienced.

Maia could no longer tolerate how ridiculous those comments were. She threw her cell phone aside,

told herself not to think about it, and left to wash up.

When she looked at the time, it was already noon. She took a bite, got her keys and left for the office.

The moment she got to the office, the reporters camping there immediately flocked to her car. Maia

tightened her grip on the wheel as she saw them surrounding her.

This was all Cedric’s doing. That bastard.

She honked the horn a few times in frustration, trying to get the reporters to give her space.

Unfortunately, they were relentless as they circled her car, not caring if she would drive through them.

Through her window shades, Maia could feel the cameras flashing. Some reporters even went so far

as to livestream her arrival.

The security staff had rushed over and tried their best to dissipate the crowd but to no avail.

The reports were just adamant on trying to interview her. They kept bombarding her with

Maia was stuck in her car as the commotion outside continued.

She frowned and took off her sunglasses. Then, she rolled down her window and commented, “Mr.

Cedric and I are not getting back together.”

This statement caused an instant outburst of further questioning.

“Does this mean that you went to watch the sunrise as friends?”

“Ms. Maia, are you saying this to as a cover for your relationship?”

Maia smiled as she released her grip from the wheel. Her fingers lightly tapping it as she added, “Mr.

Cedric is not interested in women.”

As soon as she finished, she rolled her window back up and honked for the reporters to move.

After receiving such an astonishing quote, they did not continue to pester her. Under assistance from

security, Maia managed to drive past them safely.

The reporters were excited after receiving such unbelievable gossip from an insider. Maia Burgess has

admitted that Mr. Cedric was gay. Some reporters did not even need to write about it as they had been

broadcasting live.

Who would have thought that the famous, rich, and handsome Cedric Larkin was gay?

By the time Maia was done parking her car, her cell phone began to vibrate non–stop as notifications

kept coming in.

Maia’s mood instantly brightened up as she read those notices. She could not help but smile while

almost skipping into her office building.

However, her cheerful mood was sullied soon after, as she received news that Theo had escaped. This

only meant that she was in danger as he was still out there.

It was impossible for Maia to not feel afraid. She could not forget the fear she felt after what

Tess looked at Maia worriedly “Maia, are you okay? The minute I got the news from the police, I rusted

over to Phil’s place, but Theo wasn’t there.”

Mala shook her head in response and asked, “How did Phil react to the news?”

“I’m guessing he’s probably be jumping for joy behind our backs! I can’t believe that I’m related to those

pigs!” Tess elaborated angrily.

The fact that Nigel had managed to escape only complicates things. If there was someone pulling the

strings behind Nigel, it would only make it more difficult to apprehend him.

Tess waved her hand in front of Maia as Maia was zoning out.

Maia regained her composure and told her aunt, “You shouldn’t get yourself involved in this.

Furthermore, we’re not sure of Theo’s whereabouts. No one can predict what he’s going to do next. It’s

just too dangerous.

“How could I just stand by and watch as danger lurks around you? You’ve been carrying this burden all

by yourself. Please let me help. Why don’t you move in with me? That’s it! That’s decided!” Tess

insisted, concerned for Maia.

Maia wanted to refuse but Tess stopped her before she could.

Tess continued, “Anyway, Errol’s been staying at the hotel recently, so I have an empty room at home. I

would really like some company, and I wouldn’t have to be constantly concerned about your safety if

you’re living with me! You should go head and pack now.”

“Aunt Tess, we have security at Cloud Nine Residences.” Maia tried to convince her, but Tess was no

longer listening.

“I know they have good security there, but I don’t want to take any chances. Besides, if you’re with me,

at least I can take care of you! If Theo comes after you, he’ll need to go through me

first!”
