Chapter 140 What a Sickening Mug
“Speak carefully now, Josephine. Did someone pull your strings? Did Maia bribe you and ask you to stage the whole thing?
You’re such a good girl. How’s it possible for you to do such a thing alone?”
Rita smacked her chest to show how heart–wrenching it was for her. She could not stop. herself from trying to frame Maia for it.
Josephine clenched her fist and closed her eyes. She knew what Maia meant to Cedric. She was not going to fall for the same
trick twice. “I did it all by myself. I wanted to avenge Zera.”
No one bought what she said. Baz was particularly skeptical about it. Cedric maintained a gloomy face, not saying anything.
Then, Judy said, “You let Ms. Rita down, Ms. Josephine! Did you not think about her reputation? She took pity on you and took
you to Prismara. I can’t believe this is how you repay her! You deserve everything that’s coming to you!”
Rita and Judy did a good job at keeping up the ruse. Cedric grinned slowly. It was amusing to watch them.
He lit a cigarette and took a drag, looking conceited as hell. Then, he lifted his face. The menace in his eyes was terror–inducing.

a sickening mug.”
Cedric sounded so calm that no one could guess what he was thinking. Then, he stubbed out the cigarette, threw it at Judy’s
feet, and said sinisterly, “Do it, Baz.”
“At once.” Baz had worked with Cedric for many years. He could guess Cedric’s thoughts from a single glance. Then, he took out
a dagger and seized Judy.
Despite how vocal she had been just a second ago, Judy could think of nothing to say now. She was beside herself with fear.
She wanted to take a step back, but Baz had her firmly in his grip.
“S–Save me, Ms. Rita!” Judy pleaded.

Rita was horrified. “What do you think you’re doing, Cedric?!”

She was about to do something when two other bodyguards held her off. She yelled, “What are you doing? Out of my way! I
said, out of my way. Didn’t you hear me? Get out of here!”
Naturally, they would not step aside without Cedric’s say–so. Cedric sneered.
He looked at Baz nonchalantly and said, “Well, what are you waiting for, Baz?”
“As you w
As you wish.”

Judy screamed at the top of her lungs as Baz slashed at her face with the razor–sharp dagger over and over again. Blood
dripped to the floor.
Rita covered her mouth in shock. “No! You can’t do this! Stop, Baz! Stop it!”
Baz did not heed her pleas
Judy’s screams were blood–curdling. Rita was shivering badly and her legs shook. Finally, gave out and she fell.
The bodyguards returned to their position when Baz was finished with his gruesome work. Judy was on the floor. Her face was
disfigured horribly. It was a dreadful sight to behold..

Rita’s eyes widened in fear when she saw Judy’s sorry state. She was speechless.
“Help my mom up, Baz,” Cedric said sinisterly.
“Roger.” Baz headed toward Rita with the bloodied dagger. Who in their right mind would want him to help them up?

She scrambled to her feet and said frantically, “1-1 don’t need your help! Stay away from me!”
Baz stopped and grinned, “There’s no need to be afraid, Ms. Rita!”
Rita was more terrified now. She reached out and signaled for Baz to stop coming at her.” Don’t come any closer. Stop!”
“Fine. Geez. I won’t.” Baz was still grinning, but the way he said it was just so threateningly casual.

Rita quickly sent for someone to fetch the first aid kit. She had intended to stop the bleeding from Judy’s face with the sterile
gauze, but one look at the amount of blood told her it was hopeless.
“Hurry up and call the ambulance!”
The servants rushed to do her bidding.
“Would you really dare to do it?”
dup
The servants stopped dead in their tracks and dropped the phones. They stood up straight at once and lowered their heads.
None of them dared move a muscle.

They saw the terrible fate that had just befallen Judy. Who would dare call the ambulance now? Rita was startled as well. She
didn’t know what to do.
Cedric rose from the couch. His figure gave off a tremendous sense of imposition.
What a horrifying man. He was just as fearsome as his birth mother.
Everyone said sons take after mothers. No truer words have been uttered, Rita thought.

Rita didn’t dare make a peep She covered Judy’s horribly disfigured face with the gauze. Her hands were covered in blood as
well.
“C–Cedric.” She managed to squeeze out the words after a minute. However, Cedric paid her no mind. Instead, he glanced at
Judy, who was lying on the floor.
“Do you know why I asked Baz to slash your face?”
Judy trembled. She shook her head ever so slightly.
“Did you berate Maia before she left Prismara Hill during the winter a year and a half ago?” The chill in his voice was terrible.
Judy didn’t dare say a word.
“Not only did you not make her stay, but you also berated her terribly and let her descend the hill all by herself when there was a
blizzard warning!”
Not even Rita had counted on Cedric to look into something that happened a year and a half ago! Needless to say, she had
never expected him to almost kill Judy for it!
“You deserved this for letting her face the perils of the heavy snow!”
Then, Cedric lifted his foot and stomped on Judy’s arm.
