"You better have a good explanation!" The Black Dragon roared.
Lilly inquired, "Since you claimed that no one can pass through here, what about Emperor Eastmount and Emperor Greenbow?" The Black Dragon fell silent.
How was she so adept at finding loopholes? "Of course, what | said did not include those two!" Lilly pressed on, "Alright! Then, consider this: if no one is allowed to enter or leave the Nether, why does Emperor Greenbow need to open this back door? Why not have Emperor Greenbow guard this place instead?" The Black Dragon did not respond.
She was making a valid point.
It hesitated for a moment. Since Emperor Greenbow had tamed and stationed it here, it had never considered this question. It wholeheartedly believed in its one mission: no beast or being could enter or leave the Nether.
"See? You also realize it's unreasonable, right?" Lilly said.
The Black Dragon instinctively replied, "It can't be unreasonable.” "How is it reasonable then? Is Emperor Greenbow the only one allowed to open the Nether Door?" "That's correct.” "Then, why does Emperor Greenbow need to open this back door?" "For his own convenience." "How convenient can it be? Isn't it easier for him to use the main entrance?" The Black Dragon was at a loss for words.
Lilly then said, "Throughout history, what does it mean to open a back door? It means using one's authority to give others certain conveniences and benefits that they shouldn't have..." "Hence, this door is meant for someone else, not himself! Emperor Greenbow is the one guarding the Nether Door. Why would he create more work for himself by opening a back door?" The Black Dragon did not know what to say.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThat was a valid point, but something still felt off! It angrily asked, "What are you trying to say?" Lilly calmly replied, "I'm saying that this back door was opened for me by Emperor Greenbow, my uncle! | am his niece!" The Black Dragon was stunned.
"If you don't believe me, go ask him," Lilly said.
It did not say a word.
Lilly's face was calm, without any trace of a lie on it.
She was telling the truth, after all. From what she had deduced, this back door was opened for her. Why would she need to lie? Even if it was not true, she had merely misunderstood the situation and not lied.
Lilly originally meant to call Ivan by his name, but for safety reasons, she used his title, "Emperor Greenbow," because Emperor Greenbow from back then was definitely not Ivan.
"I'm warning you. Don't play tricks in front of me!" The Black Dragon stared at her with its crimson eyes.
Lilly calmly started flattering the dragon. "I wouldn't dare! | can't beat you, so why would | play tricks in front of you? | don't want to die.” ‘That was true,’ the Black Dragon thought to itself.
It dialed down its imposing attitude, but it did not move to let her go. It asked, "I ask you this then: what are you doing in the Nether? Where is Emperor Greenbow? Since he gave you a back door entrance, why hasn't he appeared himself?" Lilly looked surprised. "That's impossible. | just saw him not long ago. Maybe he arrived here before me." She was just talking nonsense.
The Black Dragon was skeptical, staring at Lilly.
"Turn around,” Lilly said. "I'm going to get changed. My clothes have been torn to shreds." It was really heartbreaking. This outfit was worth billions.
They were now ruined.
Although her clothes were still able to cover her up, any major movements would mean flashing someone or something, so she had to change.
Unexpectedly, the Black Dragon sneered. "I won't let you out of my sight!" Lilly fell silent.
Fine. Since she could not get changed, she would just put on a jacket.
Lilly's spirit consciousness entered the ring to take out a long, thin jacket to put on.
Suddenly, she spotted the down jacket Ivan had given her during Christmas.
An idea struck her, and the down jacket appeared in her hand. She leisurely put on the jacket and zipped it up.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBlack Dragon frowned, getting closer and staring at the black down jacket.
"Where did it come from?" it asked while releasing an oppressive pressure in the air.
It was inevitable and would always happen whenever it asked a question.
"Are you talking about this jacket? Of course, it was given to me by Emperor Greenbow!" Lilly responded.
The Black Dragon stared into Lilly's eyes and only looked away after several minutes. It snorted. "You can go now." Lilly breathed a sigh of relief. She had made the right bet again. The Black Dragon could keenly sense Ivan's aura.
She was right; the Black Dragon could sense it. The only one it would submit to was Emperor Greenbow, so it would be strange if it couldn't sense it.
This girl was really Emperor Greenbow and Emperor Eastmount's niece. She was so young. Just why was she in the Nether? She looked frail like other spirit beasts, and monsters could easily swallow her.
Just as it thought that, it heard her say, "I'm not leaving." The Black Dragon was confused.
Lilly frankly continued, "It's too dangerous for me to go alone. Black Dragon, would you accompany me?" The Black Dragon's confusion grew greater.
"If you can't, then you can just send me back. | almost died coming through that door," Lilly said.
"You don't want to see me dead, do you? Otherwise, when Emperor Greenbow and Emperor Eastmount come looking for me, they will definitely think you killed me." The Black Dragon was speechless.
This girl was a devil in disguise.
Why was it even worried about her just now?
