Thankfully, they didn't say anything else as she took the stairs. She walked down the hallway leading to her former room and was soon in it. "You know how it is when few days to the divorce, the couples finally realize they're in love. I guess the hatred between you and Kage was just too much." There was a tightening in Sylvie's chest. She gulped hard and forced herself to composure before looking at him. "I'm not sad it ended. It was necessary, anyway," she muttered and attempted leaving again.
"Has anyone ever wondered why you and Kage are actually enemies? Has anyone ever bothered to ask?" Now, that was one question that struck Sylvie. It hit her right in the bones and caused a shiver down her spine.

"Does Kage know yet? What you did to him on that night? The pain you caused him?" Sylvie whipped around in a flash, her eyes glaring daggers. "Stop it!"
"Oooh. But why? It's one of my favorite topics." He lifted a finger to her cheek, caressing it. "Have you ever imagined what he'd do to you if ever imagined w he ever gets to know? How much he'd ruin your life, just as much as it ruined his back then? You know, when I learnt about the whole for money was more than your humanity, wasn't it?"
He coiled sstrands of her hair around his finger. "And can't believe you haven't told him after all these years." "You're insane, tears welled up in her eyes.
"Of course, how can you tell him? When he'll never forgive you? When he'll ruin you?" "You're a monster. A tear finally escaped it's dam.
He chuckled, like the words amused him.
"I might be, but Kage will be a bigger monster when he learns the truth." Sylvie's heart ached, another tear joined the first.
God, why did he have to return? She had been doing just fine.
