Xara remained silent, her gaze fixed on Bradley. She comprehended Bradley’s purpose in visiting the Sandersons
better than anyone else. She also knew that if Bradley insisted on taking Felix away, she couldn’t stop him, even
with the guardianship authorization letter handwritten by Esther back then. After all, biologically speaking, Bradley
was Felix’s father.
Suppressing the discomfort in his heart, Bradley flipped through the pages of Felix’s drawings, each marked with a
date. Despite not being a professional psychologist, Bradley discerned the emotions depicted in Felix’s drawings.
Felix’s drawings exhibited subtle changes over time, indicating gradual improvement.
“Felix is my son,” Bradley asserted, emphasizing a fact Xara couldn’t deny.
Observing Bradley’s slightly worn face, Xara conceded, “I know Felix is your son, but you should understand that
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtyou only have a son if he’s alive. If you continue to press him and push him to the brink like his mother did, you’ll
end up with nothing.”
Bradley closed the folder and didn’t want to hear more of Xara’s words.
“Esther is not dead,” he claimed.
Xara sneered. “How long will you deceive yourself?”
“Esther is not dead,” Bradley repeated, steadfast in his conviction, despite witnessing her body being pushed into
the incinerator with his own eyes.
“Mr. Warner, I just want to say two things.
“First, if you truly consider Felix your son, you should make the best choice for him.
“Second, did you forget that you and Esther have twin daughters, and their whereabouts are still unknown? If you
have the time and resources, why not try to find them?
“Those are the only things I want to say. Consider them as you wish.”
In truth, Xara didn’t want to say so much to Bradley. However, she softened her stance for Felix.
Bradley was at fault, but Felix was innocent. In Xara’s view, everything Bradley was experiencing now resulted from
his actions.
There had been a girl who had loved him sincerely, but he hadn’t appreciated it. Now that she had left, it was too
late for him to regret it.
“I want to see Felix.”
Xara got up to bring Felix to Bradley personally.

Felix spent each day happily at the Sandersons. Jacob was a perfect older brother, and surprisingly, the usually
reserved Jacob had a talent for taking care of his younger siblings.
Moreover, the most important thing was that Jacob, Felix, and Sunshine all had extremely high intelligence. With the
Sandersons’ wealth and Steffan’s doting, Steffan could arrange for top-notch tutors to teach them directly if they
were willing to study.
“Felix, you and your father can have a good chat here.” Xara held Felix’s hand, sincerely comforting him. “Don’t
worry, this is the Sandersons’. He won’t harm you. If he asks you anything, you can answer directly.”
After saying that, Xara left, giving Bradley and Felix some time alone.
Bradley and Felix sat quietly. After a moment, he took the initiative to ask, “Felix, I heard you’ve been learning to
play chess recently?”
Felix nodded gently.
Since Felix developed selective mutism due to psychological trauma, he hadn’t spoken again. Fortunately, he had a
strong ability to learn. Coupled with no hearing problems, his inability to speak didn’t affect his daily life.
