Chapter 617
Esther’s heart ached deeply from Bradley’s hurtful words. She had done everything for him without expecting
anything in return. Yet, his scornful insults still caused her immense pain.
“Bradley! Are you even human? How can you say such things to Esther?” Jasper barked.
“Esther might be a treasure in your eyes, but she’s just a stalk of weed to me,” Bradley replied coldly, his eyes filled
with disdain. “If you’re here to check if I’m dead or alive, thanks to Esther, I’m alive! Are you satisfied now? You can
leave.”
Applause echoed crisply from the hospital room’s doorway. Chadwick leaned casually against the door frame,

His presence immediately caught everyone’s attention.
When Bradley saw Chadwick, a fiery fury ignited in his dark eyes. “Pendleton…”
Esther’s heart tightened.
Chadwick seemed pleased with Esther’s reaction. He walked into the room and casually tossed an invitation to
Bradley.
“Warner, please do me the honor,” Chadwick said, his eyes gleaming with mockery.
Bradley calmly opened the invitation. When he saw Esther and Chadwick’s names side by side, he suggested
nonchalantly,
Pendleton, how about we make it a double celebration?”
With great interest, Chadwick glanced at the pale-faced Esther. He walked up to her and placed his arm around her
shoulder in a dominating display of power before Bradley.
As Chadwick’s hand touched Esther’s shoulder, she felt a wave of nausea. She wanted to break free, but Chadwick
held her firmly, immobilizing her.
“Esther Quill!” Chadwick gripped Esther’s shoulder and stared at her warningly. “No one in this world dares to use
me, do you
understand?”
Esther stiffened.
Chadwick ignored the gazes of Esther, Jasper, Jordyn, and Bradley and continued. “The invitations have been sent
out. Esther, if you dare to change your mind…”

Esther’s heart sank. She was well aware that Chadwick was capable of such audacious actions as removing
Bradley’s liver on the spot.
“You better cooperate and not even think about escaping or ending your life. Otherwise, I’ll have your lifeless body
delivered to the engagement ceremony. Do you understand?”
Esther had known from the beginning that agreeing to Chadwick’s threat was a dangerous decision. But for
Bradley’s survival,
she felt she had no other choice.
“Mr. Pendleton, you can’t be serious!”
