Chapter 1839
John and Sherry noticed her just in time, so they quickly removed themselves from each other and sat upright on
the couch. The dreamy scene Caprice witnessed only a moment ago seemed like. nothing more than a mirage.
“Caprice, is there something you need?” John asked, flashing a fatherly smile.
Sherry seemed very eager to hear what was on Caprice’s mind as well.
With that, Caprice joined them in the living room and briefly told them about her meeting with Moses. She
presented the product information that Moses had sent to her.
Her parents read through it attentively.
Sherry remarked, “It looks like it’s in its infancy stages, but I do see a lot of potential here. It’s very innovative.”
John seemed to agree. “Forward this to me and give me Moses’ information. I’ll have Peter make the necessary
arrangements.”
“Why don’t you leave this to me instead?” Sherry proposed, “Even if you ask Peter to oversee this deal, I think it’s
only a matter of time before Moses finds out about Caprice’s connection to you.
Caprice had always kept her family background a secret since she was a child. Piper, her childhood friend who she

It was in everyone’s best interest that nobody found out about Caprice’s family. They did not want to risk drawing
unwanted attention, especially since she was in Westchester, miles away from her parents who could protect her.
John agreed, “Okay.”
Sherry turned to Caprice. “Caprice, you can tell Moses that someone will get in touch with him later on.”
Caprice was very grateful. “Okay. Thank you, Mom.”
John coughed.
Caprice quickly turned to him. “And thank you too, Dad.”
John smiled, feeling satisfied.
Sherry gave him a sideways look, then she went outside to make a phone call.
Caprice sent Moses a text as well, informing him that an investor would get in touch with him
soon.
After sending the text, she looked up to see both her parents staring at her, the two of them looked like they had
discovered a particularly enticing secret.
John probed casually, “Caprice, how long have you known this Moses boy?”
Caprice answered, “Only a day.”
“You’re willing to help him when you’ve only known him for a day?” Sherry seemed surprised.
It seemed perfectly logical to Caprice, so she remarked, “He’s a very popular guy in our university and is one of the
top students. All I can say is that he’s a pretty decent character and that I can vouch for him. It will be a safe
investment, I promise.”
Sherry suddenly grew skeptical. “But you’ve only known him for a day. How can you be sure that he’s as
trustworthy and reliable as you say?”
“I talked to him. I’ve also heard some of the things people say about him. He seems like a stand- out guy overall.”
“You mentioned he’s very popular. I assume he’s very handsome?” Sherry asked a rather left-field question.
Caprice remarked candidly, “He’s okay.”
Sherry asked, “Compared to Liam?”
Caprice stirred briefly, then she said, “Liam wins in that department.”
Sherry eased her concerns. It seemed like all Caprice wanted was to help him out.
She had always been very kind-hearted since she was a child. Although she had only known Moses for a day, it does
seem like the boy was rather trustworthy. Since he was the one who went to Caprice for help, it was the right thing

Besides, it did seem like a good investment from a solely business perspective.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
Caprice had been spending most of her time at home. Madam Stockton and her parents stayed at home for the
past two days as well.
This morning, her parents left for work at last.
Madam Stockton went out with some friends as well.
This tended to be routine during every semester break whenever Caprice came home. During the first few days,
her family would stay at home since it had been a long time since they last saw her. After the initial days, they
would revert to their usual day-to-day routine.
Caprice stayed at home by herself, lying on the couch with nothing to do.
She did not have many hobbies to speak of. All she could do was either scroll through social
media, pick up a book to read, or find something to snack on.
Another option was to stalk Liam’s profile to see what he was up to.
