Chapter 405
Tyler lied.
It was likely that he had gone to see the mysterious woman when he supposedly disappeared during
the night, but Harvey seemed certain that the woman in the photo Vicky once found was not the
woman Tyler was seeing at the moment.
From Harvey's tone, Vicky could tell that he seemed to be protective over the woman in the photo, and
she started to let her imagination go wild.
‘Can it be that apart from business rivalry, Tyler and Harvey had been in love with the same woman
before?' she thought to herself.
Naturally, it was all just a theory and Vicky cast it aside not long after.
Tyler had not returned home at all in the following week, and all the information about Tyler's schedule
continued to be sent to Vicky's phone.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAs usual, Tyler would disappear at night, and the masked man—who had been haunting her in the past
weeks-seemed to have disappeared as well, except the occasional message saying that he was busy.
Vicky was busy, too, only not with work. She was running herself thin, trying to find the identities of the
masked man and the woman Tyler had been seeing.
She scanned the scattered documents on her desk and pinched the bridge of her nose tiredly because,
despite her effort, she had not discovered anything about the masked man and the mysterious woman.
"Vicky, are you in some kind of trouble lately?" Jennifer walked into the studio with two lunchboxes.
Cece had gone to take measurements for their client and Vicky had been so occupied with her
research that she lost track of time, so Jennifer went to buy two portions of lunch.
Vicky sighed. "I'm looking for a person, but I don't know what they look like or anything about them.
Having them followed won't work, so I'm trying to find a way to...find them."
"Vicky, is this person you're looking for someone you know or just a stranger?"
Vicky shook her head. "I don't know."
"I have an idea, actually."
Vicky's eyes lit up. "You do?"
"It works if it's someone around you, but if it's just a stranger... It won't work as well."
"I can't be sure if it's someone around me." Vicky looked at Jennifer eagerly. "Jennifer, what do you
have in mind?"
"Vicky, you should know what happened between me, Lily, and Anthony by now, right? The method I
am about to tell you is how I found out about Lily, " she said bitterly. "There was a time when Anthony
started acting weird, and he wouldn't tell me what happened. He'd sometimes leave in the middle of a
date, and I started to suspect that he was seeing another woman.
"Anthony's parents have always been quite open-minded, and even if he fell in love with a girl whose
status isn't a match for Anthony, they wouldn't have stopped him. As for me... If he didn't like me and
fell in love with another girl instead, I'd never force him to go through with the marriage, so he didn't
have to lie about her. I didn't find out until later on that he was hiding her to protect her."

Jennifer forced a smile. "And that woman was Lily Foster. She once risked her life to save Anthony, and
he has been obsessed with finding her for the longest time. He once managed to find her a few years
ago, and he came close to breaking ties with his family for her sake. I don't know what happened, but
that was the first time his parents had ever been so against him dating someone. His protest didn't
work, and Lily was sent away. The Monroes and the Yavners have been friends through generations,
and I grew up with Anthony. Both of our parents want us to marry each other, so we got engaged one
year after Lily disappeared.
"Anthony's parents thought that he had changed and handed him full control over Yavner Group. I
thought the same too because he managed to hide his true feelings so well that no one noticed. One
day, I caught a really faint scent on him; the kind of scent that doesn't fade in time. It was barely there,
but still noticeable and that was when I discovered Lily."
Vicky scowled. "She wanted you to find out?"
Jennifer nodded. "Yes. She wanted me to find out about her. Afterward, I sent someone to investigate
the scent and found out that it was a unique type of perfume. All it takes is a single spray, and anyone
the user comes into contact with frequently will have that scent clinging to them as well."
