Chapter 304
Vicky was pushed into a room equally dark. Though she was conscious, she could not move a muscle.
Time ticked by, and every second stretched indefinitely in the darkness.
Just as she was about to drift off to sleep, she heard the door opening.
She jolted awake. Though she could not see anything, she kept her eyes trained on the door. Her
senses became extremely sensitive in the absolute silence, and the sound of shoes dragging across
the floor was captured by Vicky.
Click! Someone came inside and closed the door behind them.
Vicky tensed at the approaching sound of footsteps.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe had been in the dark for too long and was starting to get used to her surroundings.
She spotted a dark figure walking toward her, and though she tried to remain calm, her heaving chest
and racing heart betrayed her.
Vicky was terrified.
Just as she was absorbed in her thoughts, a cold hand came into contact with her. The hand was so
cold that she felt as though she could freeze.
"Don't touch me!" she blurted in a trembling voice.
The hand twitched for a moment, followed by a low chuckle.
"Ha!" The voice was altered by a voice changer and sounded extremely staged.
The person started dragging their fingers through her arms, neck, cheeks, and lips as though they were
trying to tease her.
Fear was inevitable when one was facing the unknown, and the fear inside Vicky's heart took over her
when she could not even see the face of the person before her.
"Stop it! Don't touch me!"
"I spent seven million on you," the odd voice responded. "So why can't I touch you? Am I supposed to
put you away like a vase or something after buying you for seven days?"
"Seven days? What?"
"Don't you know?" The voice rose in surprise. "It's the rule in Forever Night. Commodities like you can
only be rented for seven days at most."
'Rented? What does that mean?"

so long as it doesn't cost you your life."
"Anything...?" Vicky jolted as she stared into the darkness. Unable to see anything, she could not help
but raise a foolish question. "What are you going to do to me?"
Amused, the voice responded, "What can a man do to a woman?"
Vicky desperately wanted to shake off the hand on her, but she could barely lift a finger. She tried to
stay composed and said, "I think that...we can talk."
"I didn't spend all that money to rent you for seven days so we can chat. You're the most expensive
commodity that costs a million per day. Are you trying to waste my time or my money?"
She stared at the dark figure and said, "I know that money is nothing but a bunch of numbers to people
like you. I want to say something important to you."
