Melanie and Annie boarded the plane and returned home on brief notice.

were sitting side by side with their curtains drawn.

you,” Annie said with a laugh.

That night, after Melanie finished her dinner, she told Eliza that she wanted to stay with Annie. Since

there are things she needed to work on with Annie’s PR company, it would be easier for them to

discuss it if they were together.

Eliza held Melanie’s hand and said, “Your appetite has been quite bad lately. It must be because you’re
