Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Ethan headed to Royale without delay after hanging up the phone. Alice told me that she prohibits me from

informing the Woland Family about our marriage because she doesn’t regard them as her family. But Lydia and

Cecilia are her best friends, so they are definitely the people she trusts the most. Does this mean I can disclose my

identity? I can finally stamp my status as her husband in front of her best friends, right?

“Mr. Knight, Young Madam Knight is in Room 217 on the second floor.” Caleb knew that Ethan was heading over.

Therefore, he had long awaited Ethan’s arrival in Royale. He even found out the room Alice was in before Ethan

arrived.

Ethan replied with a hum before he headed straight to the second floor.

The privacy in Royale was superb, especially in the specially designated private rooms. To meet the needs of some

guests and prevent some conversations from being heard, not only were these private rooms soundproof, but they

also had a small private room inside. If the guests wanted to discuss more private matters, they could choose to

discuss them in the small private room after they entered.

The private room that Alice, Lydia, and Cecilia were currently in was precisely this kind of specially designated

room. However, it wasn’t because they wanted to discuss private matters. Rather, it just so happened that there

were no other available rooms in Royale, leaving the server to arrange such a room for them. Considering it was

only the three of them, they figured they might as well go into the small private room now that they were assigned

such a room.

And since there were guards keeping watch outside these rooms, ordinary folks couldn’t possibly step inside without

special arrangements. Nonetheless, this was inapplicable to Ethan. After all, he was no ordinary folk.

Ethan pushed open the door and walked in. When he arrived at the door of the small private room and was about

to knock, he overheard the conversation that was currently going on in the room.

As Lydia and Cecilia knew Alice didn’t care about the awful things the Woland Family did, they didn’t bother wasting

their time on them. They decided to wait for the result of the DNA test to come out before figuring out how to deal

with the members of the Woland Family.

Even though they didn’t talk about all the nasty deeds of the Woland Family, there was still some juicy gossip.

“I heard that Ethan actually showed up at the Woland Family’s banquet today. What was up with that?” Lydia was

highly interested in this matter. After all, Ethan had always kept a low profile and rarely showed his face. Therefore,

she was curious and surprised why the mysterious Ethan would appear at the Woland Family’s banquet.

“Mr. Knight was the one who asked him to go.” Alice thought that since their marriage was nothing but an

agreement, she was sure that Ethan wouldn’t have shown up at the Woland Family’s banquet if Lawrence hadn’t

forced him to attend.

“Who can order Ethan around—” Lydia didn’t catch Alice’s words at first. She abruptly stopped halfway through her

sentences after she blurted those words. Her voice instantly went up a few notches, “Did you just mention Mr.

Knight? Is it the one whom I think it is?”

“Yeah.” Alice felt that not many could force Ethan.

“Mr. Knight!” Lydia gasped loudly, obviously finding it hard to believe. Then, she repeatedly asked for clarification,

“Lawrence Knight, Ethan’s father?”

“Yes.” Alice couldn’t contain her laughter when she saw Lydia’s current state.

“Hold up. W-What’s happening? What exactly is happening? Why would Mr. Knight be bothered by the nasty deeds

done by the Woland Family? And he even sent Ethan over. I don’t get it.” Lydia felt that this incident was simply way

too surreal and completely illogical.

“Alice, why don’t you explain it to us?” Cecilia, who remained silent all this time, suddenly spoke. I am sure that Mr.

Knight can’t possibly be bothered by those members of the Woland Family. Alice definitely has something to do with

this. I know Alice is Tanner, and I also know that Mr. Knight has been looking for Tanner. Is it possible that Mr. Knight

has found out that Alice is Tanner? Was that why Ethan Knight showed up at the Woland Family’s banquet?

Since Cecilia felt that her speculation was considered rather bold, she didn’t dare to think of other reasons.

“It’s nothing. It’s just that Ethan and I got married some time ago.” Although she couldn’t disclose her marriage

with Ethan to the public, Alice didn’t want to hide it from her best friends.

Outside the private room, Ethan curled the corner of his mouth slightly with satisfaction. Not bad. She finally stamps

me as her husband this time. But what’s up with her tone? Does she not think she sounds slightly too casual when

introducing me to her best friends?

“I see…” Perhaps it might be that Alice’s tone sounded too casual. Or it might be that Lydia’s thoughts were still

Alice looked at Cecilia and waited until she gulped down the tea in her mouth before she added, “It involves a city

hall, a town hall, or a city clerk, depending on the state. The license comes in an eight-and-a-half-inch by 14-inch

paper. It’s only valid for a while and then expires anywhere between 10 days and a year. Its cost ranges from 35

bucks to 90 bucks. It is said that many will take this license as long as they are of legal age…”

Alice felt that her description was pretty detailed and specific. Yet, the two ladies in front of her were totally off at

this moment. They simply stared at Alice, looking confused and stupefied as if they were listening to a story—a

literary story. Either way, they looked as though they enjoyed the story despite not understanding it.

Alice secretly breathed out a sigh before she continued, “Both parties and a witness must be aged 18 years or older

to sign the application form in the presence of a notary. Female applicants may also be asked if they want to

change their last name when they apply for this license.”

This time, Alice stated a clearer and more specific description.

Meanwhile, outside the room, the smile on Ethan’s lips deepened, and his eyes beamed with an apparent sign of

happiness. Little Fox is quite good at teasing people.

Finally, the two stupefied ladies who were listening to the story responded.

“Oh my!!!” Lydia was the first to come to her senses.

After that, the literary story instantly turned into a ghost story with Lydia’s shout echoing in the room.

Alice instinctively covered her ears, feeling she might have gone deaf thanks to the loud shriek Lydia had made just

now.

“Alice, get to the point and be frank with us. What’s going on? What kind of license did you and Ethan apply for?”

Lydia demanded. Her voice remained as loud as before and even cracked when she spoke.

In truth, Lydia knew what license Alice and Ethan had applied for. It was precisely because of this that she was even

more surprised to the point that she was about to go insane.

“Yeah. Tell us.” Cecilia nodded in agreement. “Don’t even think about leaving this room if you don’t make things

clear today.”

“It’s just a marriage license!” It did cross Alice’s mind that the two would be surprised when she broke this news to

them. Yet, she never thought that they would overreact to such an extent. Seriously? It’s just getting a marriage

license with Ethan.
