Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Alice took her phone and dialed a number which was answered almost immediately.

“Help me recover all the security footage on the second floor of Fortuna Hotel,” Alice spoke into the phone tenderly

with a soft expression.

She wasn’t smiling or speaking in a low voice, but one could feel the love in her voice.

Ethan suddenly felt that the coldness that surrounded her disappeared and he saw a tenderness in her that he

never witnessed.

He paused in his actions and wondered who she was talking to. Who’s that? That person could affect her mood so

easily. It changed the instant she spoke to them.

At that moment, Ethan realized he was jealous of the person on the other end of the phone for being on the

receiving end of her gentle words.

“Okay,” Apollo answered promptly. He didn’t even ask why. Whatever Alice wanted, he would do it for her.

Alice didn’t hang up as she knew Apollo was competent and could recover the footage any second since it was only

destroyed by people like Elijah. So, she chose to wait for him on the line.

Everyone could hear a pin drop in the hallway. Even though Alice wasn’t as commanding as before and had become

so friendly, no one dared speak a word.

The Wolands were also terrified of Alice and kept their mouths shut. Even Elijah backed away and hid behind the

police.

Alas, he didn’t realize the severe consequences of that phone call.

In the lounge, Charles’ expression changed when he heard Alice’s words. But he told himself to stay calm since the

footage had been destroyed. So, she couldn’t recover them.

Alice had underestimated them. By the time she realized what was happening, her fate was already set in stone

and she wouldn’t be able to change a thing. The only thing that was waiting for her was jail.

“Who’s Alice calling?” Irvin was curious. “Is she asking someone to recover the hotel’s footage? But I asked the

manager. He said it’s all gone and there’s no way it can be recovered. Whom is Alice asking for help?”

“Ethan, I remember you have a guy who’s great at computers. Can he help recover the footage?” Irvin paused and

glanced at Ethan. “Why isn’t Alice asking you for help?”

Alice is asking for help, but Ethan is standing right here. Why isn’t she asking him for help and asking someone else

instead?

Irvin’s words were like a stab to the already deeply jealous Ethan’s heart.

He also wanted to know why. I’m standing right here, but she didn’t even bother asking me and called someone

else instead. Does she not believe in my ability? Or… Am I not even worthy of consideration?

Just as Alice expected, Apollo’s voice could be heard within a minute, “Mommy, it’s done.”

“That’s great. You’re the best,” Alice’s lighthearted tone was accompanied by a genuine smile. My baby’s the

smartest. He’s the best.

Ethan’s eyes instantly narrowed at the sight. She just praised that person in front of everyone! Her words were also

so cringy!

Ethan was green with envy. Am I not good enough? Am I that weak? She didn’t even bother asking me. How will she

know if I’m not good enough?!

“Alice got it settled?” Irvin’s focus was entirely on Alice. So, it was only natural that he heard her reply and figured

that she had matters well in hand.

Way to go, Alice!

Then, Irvin turned to Ethan and wanted to praise Alice, but realized Ethan’s expression didn’t look too good. In fact,

Ethan looked as though he was about to burst into flames.

What’s up with that face? He looks like he wants to kill someone. Alice’s situation is solved. Shouldn’t he be happy?

“Alice, the footage is damaged. That’s not possible. Don’t play tricks and stop wasting everyone’s time.” Emma

didn’t believe that Alice could recover the footage. She wouldn’t believe it, nor did she want to accept it.

Alice was dumb. How could she become so skillful? Emma wouldn’t allow her to steal her limelight and glory. She

would never allow this to happen.

Regardless of Emma’s wishes, Alice dismissed Emma entirely and didn’t even bother paying any mind to her.

Instead, she turned toward the hotel’s manager, “Mr. Fernandez, could you help play the surveillance footage for

the right lounge for everyone.”

“The footage was deleted. I’ve asked someone to check and they couldn’t recover it.” Mr. Fernandez didn’t believe

that Alice actually recovered the footage as well.

“It is now. You’ll just need to retrieve it.” Alice looked at the big screen in the banquet hall. “Just play it on the

screen. It’ll make things easier since the police are here. Everyone will know what truly happened.”

Alice knew Charles still thought he could get away with this, but she would let him understand how it feels to fail on

the brink of success.

She would show him the harsh truth of reality. She just hoped his heart could take it, but considering his

complexion, it didn’t seem like a problem.

“O-Okay.” Mr. Fernandez quickly realized that his reaction time was rather slow. All he had to do was check to know

whether the footage had been recovered.

So, he answered and asked his staff to retrieve the footage.

Meanwhile, in the lounge, Charles started to panic, and it showed on his face. Did Alice really recover the footage?

If she did, then his plan is ruined. Not only would they fail to send her to jail, but more problems would also be

awaiting them in the future.

Right now, Charles could only pray that the footage wasn’t recovered. Unfortunately, it seemed the gods had fallen

asleep and no one heard his prayers.

Soon, Mr. Fernandez retrieved the footage for the second floor, and it was intact without a single shred of editing.

Then, he played the footage for the right lounge onto the big screen in the hall.

Suddenly, the faces of the Wolands changed as they didn’t think that Alice would be successful.

On the screen, it displayed the door of the right lounge and everyone stared at it wanting to know what had

happened.

“How do you want to handle the Wolands?” Ethan discretely approached Alice and asked in a low voice.
