Chapter 186
Lewis POV
It had been a week, a whole week and dylem still wasn’t going to the dining hall, | did managed to get food to
her new and again but she needed more than what i could get, she was too thin, she almost looked sickly, she
also needed to intewith the people here, it was crucial if she was going to be the one to unite the world
against the kingg
The girl that had arrived a week ago, just wasn’t the Dylan that | had grown to know, fiot that | blamed her for
anything, she just needed to be reminded of her nature Everyone here had seen it to sextent, and even
while her mind was active on other things, she had shown herself to be a true lender. She held this natural
authority about her which in turn had everyone bowing to her
Even so | was worried about her, and so there i was stood outside her PV and waiting to hear something, | knew
she wasn’t keeping one on purpose, she was far too exhausted for that, and so | was determined to figure out
what she was the co: That is why | waited, and waited... it was roughly two o’clock in the morning when a loud
shout cfrom inside the 1, it didn’t sound like she was in pain, but the fear embedded into the noise shook
just before | could reach for the door, it shot open and Dylan all but scrambled out, her hand rested on her chest
as she panted and collapsed on the grass below, gasping for her breath while kneeding on the ground.
“I knew it! E spoke to her only to have her head turn toquickly, she jumped out of her skin at the sight of me
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtand stared atwide eyed. | stepped closer to the girl and squinted trying to focus on her beautiful face, only |
was shocked when | saw her cheeks stained with tears, “What are you doing up?”
I had been watching her for days, and she seemed to be getting more and more pale, her eyes were so sunken
and bloodshot that it was almost difficult to even see them under the light of the moon.
| couldn't sleep, so | thought I'd get sfresh air. | need to build my stamina back up anyway” She shrugged
her shoulders and wiped her cheeks clean from the water that had ran down it, as if being out and about at two
in the morning was a normal occurrence. She stood up still out of breath but trying to play it off.
You are having nightmares? That's why you aren't sleeping!.. Her silence confirmed everything and | sighed. |
was beyond angry at myself for not seeing it before, | should have known. | whispered the last part to myself,
elenching my fists tight at the thought of Josh taking her mind so far away from reality that even asleep she
wasn't getting any
andsar
I'm sleeping fine. | just want to go for a walk. She wasn’t sleeping fine, but if | pressed her she would just get
mad, so | played along for a minute,
“Dyl, you are exhausted. | know you wait to get stronger, but there's no point doing any of this if you're going to
collapse from exhaustion. Aren't you taking the sleeping pills that Doctor Begave you? | knew just by
looking at her that she wasn’t. They were there to help her, and yet she was refusing it. | wanted more than
anything to know why
| don’t like how the pills makefeel. It was a simple answer that really didn’t sit well with me. She was going
to make herself really sick if she kept refusing sleep.
Chapter 186
“Can’t you just try them again? You need sleep!” She shook her head frustration and anger evident on her
beautiful features.
“I've tried them... | didn’t like them. End of discussion!” Well that was final... Still | knew | had to push her.
“And what about food?” | took a step towards her and watched as she wobbled slightly, clearly unsteady on her
legs, she really must have such low stamina and energy. “You're still not eating properly, Dylan. You know that
you need food, more than anyone else here.”
“I know, but I'm just not hungry like | used to be. | don’t want to over cat and make myself sick.” Excuses! That's
all she was doing, she was making excuses about why she wasn’t caring for herself.
“So don’t over eat, finish what you can even and wait an hour before eating more, It’s really simple if you just...”
She cutoff, her words slicing through my own, while the expression that took over her face caused a stab to
hitin my chest. | knew she was struggling, but there was more to this. She can’t have been starving herself
on purpose, she didn’t even try it while she was still living with king Josh, it madethink that maybe she
actually did enjoy food, it was always Josh who didn’t feed her correctly, he feared her getting too strong.
“Nothing about this is simple!”
“So, lethelp you. Tellwhat is going on in that head of yours.” She shook her head, and looked away from
“I don’t need help, I'm ok.” That phrase again... ‘I'm Ok‘ she was not ok, anyone could tell that she was far from
ok, and | was honestly sick and tired of hearing her say it.
“It's two in the morning, you are not ‘fine’, you are not ‘ok’.” | was angry at her for burying down her feelings so
much, it really wasn’t healthy to surprise what was going on in her head. “For once, Dyl, please just tellwhat
you're feeling. Tellwhat is going on with you, why are you forcing yourself to not eat, to not sleep. Why are
you torturing
yourself?! Just tellexactly you're feeling, because | can’t stand by any longer and watch you die before my
eyes.” Her orbs widened drastically at my rant, | knew she was suffering, but | wasn’t joking or exaggerating in
the slightest.
If Dylan didn’t start taking care of herself, then she would die. “Stop saying you're ok and tellthe truth.”
“I...” she swallowed thickly and her eyes began to fill up, her brows scrunched together screaming nothing but
desperation.
“Say it, Dylan! Please just say it, just admit it so that | can help you. Please... Please lethelp you!” My hand
went to cup her cheek which she instantly allowed, her face pressed slightly into my palm and with it my
angered heartbeat
began to sound and feel less erratic.
“I'm...” why was it so difficult for her to vocalize it. “I'm not... ok!”
Finally! She acknowledged her feelings/Finally she spoke her truth instead of forcing herself to feel nothing.

Now she’s accepted her feelings it was more than tto help her deal with her mind.
