“Leave it there.
I’ll have it later.”
“Mrs.
Sullivan, the press conference is about to begin.
Do we need to contact a make-up artist for you?”
Maria stood up, walked over to the dresser, and opened a bottle of nail polish remover.
Without hesitation, she rubbed a cotton ball on her new manicure.
“Make-up? What do you think would people say if they saw a woman who just lost her son appearing glamorously in front of the public?”
Mary immediately realized her mistake.

Sullivan.”
“Find a plain dress for me.
I don’t need to wear any makeup.” Maria checked herself in the mirror.
“Besides, we still don’t know if the press conference can be held on tor not.”
When Mary heard this, she looked behind Maria and couldn’t help but be intrigued.
“I’m really having a hard tunderstanding, Mrs.
Sullivan.
I thought you wanted the child to testify against Victor at the press conference.
Why did you suddenly send someone to…”
‘…kill him?’ Mary didn’t finish her sentence.
“Testify?” Maria chuckled, glancing at Mary in the mirror.
“They are father and son.
Do you really think that the child will listen to us and testify against his dad? And even if he does, I can’t keep him.”
She squinted her eyes, and they glinted with madness.
After a pause, she looked Mary in the eye and said, “His existence is nothing but a threat to my dominion over the Sullivan Group.”
Upon hearing that, Mary finally understood what she meant.
From the very beginning, Maria had no intention of keeping Joey alive.
It happened four years ago, and it wouldn’t be surprising that she would do it again.
Mary suddenly thought of the man who just left.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmFour years ago, he was the one who pushed Rachel into traffic and almost caused her miscarriage.
Later on, because Victor kept on investigating the matter, Maria had to send the guy away.
Four years later, he was called back.
And the purpose of his return was the sas his purpose four years ago; he must kill the child that should’ve died four years ago.
The cars ran steadily along the highway.
There were four cars; two were in front, the other two were in the back.
Every once in a while, the four cars would change sequence as they all drove towards the
Sullivan Group.
“Achoo!” Joey sneezed.
And right after he did, someone covered his forehead.
After making sure that the boy wasn’t sick again, Victor withdrew his hand and said to the chauffeur, “Turn up the heat.”
